    Multiple issues;Started last year early spring when we needed a new A/C unit. The unit we had burned up with wiring issue and it was 24yrs old! It was an American Standard 3-ton Dual compressor unit. I selected Dekalb Machanicals bid to replace with similar unit. After the install I noticed that the new unit was a Luxaire 3-ton single compressor unit. I questioned the salesman and was told that its 24yrs newer and technology has improved?As spring turned to summer 6 weeks went and I get a $600.00 bill from ComEd. I immediately called Dekalb Machcanical to complain, normally the ComEd was about $250.00 . They came out and looked at and told me the A/C was fighting with Gas Heat system. Their solution was to remove a TechMar control unit and replace it with a Taco multilevel control unit. Multilevel because the Gas Heating system has 4 zones. I had asked for an estimate and was told you dont need an estimate.. then 3 months later I get a $3000.00 for that new Taco unit!!!I was told yep that the cost of putting in the new box? So paid the bill and complained !! Then the winter of 2024/2025 came and I found I couldnt keep my house warmer then 66 degs in below zero weather! I really complained and demanded they fix it! Finally ***** ****** came out and looked at it and said this Taco box is wired wrong and 2 of 4 heating zones are not functional. ***** had his person come out with ***** present wire the Taco box properly. Thats just an overview of the exhausting and BS I put up with for over a year! I cannot in good conscience recommend this business to anyone!
