Since I grew up hearing the name of this company I thought they would do great work. Had a toilet leak and some bathroom faucets that needed to be replaced on the master tub and the sink. First guy, Glenn comes out on 1-6-25 and when he sees that the toilet leak requires rodding out he hands the job off to another guy (Mike) at Roto Rooter. When Glenn was asked if he could at least replace the faucets he replied that the next plumber (Mike) would do that. Mike repaired the toilet and mentioned he doesn't do the faucets, and couldn't understand why Glenn didn't replace the faucets since he knew that Mike only does drains. So for approximately 4 weeks, I called at least 3-4 times to see when they would complete my plumbing job which started on 1-6-2025. After, multiple calls to the plumber Glenn and his manager, Glenn finally schedules me for 2-4-25. He even had me to get the faucets so it would be a simple install. On 2-4-25, after 45 minutes past the appointment time, I call in to see when Glenn would arrive. I find out that he went home for the day but no one bothered to let his appointments know. Again I speak to his manager who sends plumber Ben out the next day to do the installs. Ben installs the sink faucets but not the drains. He left the old drains although the drains came with the new faucets. So we have new faucets but inoperable drains because they belong with the old faucet that Ben removed. Then for the master bathtub, Ben asked if he could cut out the tile surround on my master bathtub because his hands, body, etc. was too big to fit the pre-existing access door. I thought he must be joking because if he cuts the tile surround he won't be fixing it back. But he was serious! I'm shocked that this is the service that Roto Rooter does. Not to mention how terribly expensive the job was just for installs not the faucets. Beware of Roto-Rooter!

I would not recommend Central Illinois Roto-Rooter I called them for an Estimate and was quoted $239 for two new water valves. The technician (Dustin) Told me that he was going to take care of the simple leak for no charge. After about an hour he comes out and tells me my cartridge is leaking that he does not have one so my whole faucet needs replaced for an additional 350. (Dustin) told me that He could not turn the main water back on unless it was fixed. So I had no choice. After I asked to speak to a manager He told me what manager is up at 11pm. Then he said, are you refusing to Pay multiple times and I said each time no sir, I would like to speak with the manager. I am not refusing. After that he was throwing his stuff in my house. And threaten my wife that was home alone. I spoke with the manager And he kept saying, i understand where you're coming from and proceeded to still charge me the $350 When I paid the 350 he said, we are going to wash our hands from this and not give you the Warranty. The manager Proceeding to tell me the way he Handled it was he came out because he's a 15 year Plummer that he doesn't come out in the field. I can go on and on about this service. When I asked for the gm or owner to get in touch with me his comment was that he chuckled and said I'll get right on that. There's also other reviews about People being threatened. The manager also proceeded to say the F works to me under his breath while walking away. I also have videos and recordings

We called Roto-Rooter out because our sewer line was backing up into the bathroom via the shower drain. We are an elderly couple living alone, with no experience with plumbing work. Tech (Gregory) promptly came to assess the situation. After finding a minimal issue, the tech further scoped the pipes all the way to the end of the property. Please keep in mind that if you can go all the way to the end of the property without issue, there is no blockage. Greg told us that 12' of pipe needed to be replaced, as well as a >50' trench was going to need to be dug, which included a large amount of landscaping and fence. The quoted price of this work was $27,421. This is a large amount of money, and came as a bit of a shock. When we said we needed to get a second opinion, Greg informed us that it needed to get done imminently and that there was not a lot of time before it got worse. Naturally (as this scare tactic does) we did not know what to say, so we were going to proceed with the work. After speaking to my kids and their spouses, we lined up (4) "second opinions" anyway. A total of (8) licensed plumbers came and inspected, all of which said there was absolutely nothing that needed any immediate attention, and provided a recommendation for maintenance. Yes, 8 licensed plumbers gave advice on how to maintain the currently in good-condition plumbing system. So this begs the question - why did we get quoted over $27,000 if there was no clear and apparent issue present? (RR, judging by your previous responses to complaints, you respond. My "question" is rhetorical). If we didn't take the advice of our kids, we would have been scammed out of over $27,000 by Roto-Rooter. To add insult to injury, we later found out that Roto-Rooter has been permanently banned in several local towns due to this same type of disgusting tactic. If for ANY reason you still decide to have them complete large work for you, I heavily suggest getting a secondary opinion before you move forward.
