    Very little work got done each day. Most days one guy worked short hours. The first work day, he did a couple hours of necessary demolition removing an old fiberglass tub/shower. He had no materials with him to start rebuilding. As he worked slowly each day, I felt that he did not seem to know how to accomplish the work they were hired to do. He left a mess most days. It took a couple of days for him to take out particle board underlayment from a 100 sq ft bathroom. To help speed things along, I shoveled the debris into a trash bag and carried it to the dumpster after he left. I also pulled up the nails myself. I voiced many concerns about strength and stability after seeing the floor joists for under the bathtub were 2x4s toenailed into a 2x4 on one end. They cut a section out of the old 8” floor joist nearest to the bathtub to relocate an HVAC register out of the shower area using a flimsy flexible aluminum foil duct squished under the bathtub. Throughout the project, I asked the owner ******* ***** questions about the construction. He would only answer by telling me how experienced he is at home building or with offers to provide many references. The plywood subfloor under the bathtub has no support under an edge. I can push it down with my fingertip. Brenden was here to help install the bathtub, so he was definitely aware of this. When I brought it up, he said he would take a look later but didn't know what problem there could be. We are hiring someone else to come in and make this safe.
