      I signed a rental agreement with Huntington Chase Apartments with a lease term of 4 months and 28 days beginning on 30 Sep 2021 and ending on 27 Feb 2022. This agreement was using Georgia Apartment Association form 1301. On 1 Feb 2022 I provided my written notice that I would be ending my lease at the end of the initial lease term. They proceeded to tell me I had to provide a 60 day notice. This seemed odd, so I pulled out the lease my son and I signed. In paragraph 6, it states "Renewal Term and Notice of Non-Renwal to End the Lease. Either party may non-renew and terminate this lease at the end of the initial term by providing a written non-renewal notice prior to the end of the initial lease term." It provides details pertaining to what happens if no notice is provided. Then it states "a 30 day written notice is required to end the initial term or any renewal or extension period as of a calendar month." I provided a copy of this to them and explained that I was only required to give a 30 day written notice, which I provided. Ms. **** continued to argue that I MUST provide 30 day notice but never provided evidence in my signed lease agreement to support this. She continued to agree this and said she would be charging me for March rent because I only provided a 30 day notice. I told her she couldn't charge me an extra months rent per my lease. All she would say is "you signed a lease". Yes I did, that requires a 30 day notice. She never provided evidence to support her claim and I assumed all was resolved. I paid for the entire month and moved out early, did the final move out on the 21st. On 5 March, I checked my statement and they had charged me move out fees of $39.50 which I paid leaving $0 due. Then on 9 March, Ms. **** sent me a statement saying I was past due and I needed to pay or she was sending it to collections. The statement shows she charged $1,252 for March stating a Relet Fee - Only gave a 30 day notice. She's uncooperative.
