I have never left a bad BBB. This business transaction was abysmal. I placed a FB post looking for a mold free rental unit for 3.5 months while my home undergoes renovation. I made clear I have a severe mold allergy. She responded to my post. Told me several times her rental is mold free. She did allow a walk through of her beach cottage. It smelled musty but it was a cabin so I figured it needed airing. I paid $8170 upfront. Within hours of moving in I had reaction. By day 2 I alerted her I was ill and was doing an ERMI test for mold. I went on the hunt for the source and took pictures of mold I found. By Day 4 I had to sleep in my empty reno home as I had sore and swollen throat & eyes, difficulty breathing. Day 6 I alerted her I couldn't stay another day and was leaving. I asked for a partial refund since there was mold. She said no to a partial. I asked her to move me to another of her properties. She said Id have to pay full price again for it. I told her Id have to sleep in my car then as I gave her $8170 for 15 weeks and only made it 4 nights. I had no choice but to pack up my children and leave. The ERMI test came back on Day 7. It showed high levels of toxic black molds, the highest I had ever seen personally. I sent her the results. She refused to respond still. During the few days there, there was also a water flood. Upon turning on the dishwasher, water sprang up through a drain in the bathroom floor of cottage, water went all over. We suspected that was a regular occurrence the way it flooded up the floor, so no surprise by the mold smell. It took a full day to get anyone out to fix it so there was no water or toilet, I had to take the kids and dog and leave and sit in our empty house until dinner time when someone came to fix. I was messaging her throughout the day asking for updates and she didnt respond. I left a FB review on her business to try and get her to respond and resolve. She then texted my husband and told him we should prob take it down.
