    On July 8th, a door-to-door salesperson for ProForce Pest Control visited my home offering pest control services. I told him I was interested, but explained that I am cautious about signing up for services without researching the company first. I specifically asked: “If I sign up today, will I be able to cancel?” His answer was "yes". Based on this assurance, I provided my information and signed the contract on his iPad.

    I experienced issues with the company from the start. I rescheduled my first service appointment because I would be out of town. Despite the reschedule, the technician still came at the original time when I was out of state and was only able to treat the exterior of my home — yet I was still charged the full $50 fee. This should have been an early warning sign about the company’s service practices. However, I chalked it up to a small oversight or miscommunication.

    Today, I called to cancel the service because we are moving. I was informed that I am locked into a 12-month contract and must pay $199 to cancel. This is the first time I have been told there is a three-day cancellation window from the date of signing — a critical detail that the salesperson failed to disclose when I explicitly asked about the ability to cancel. Additionally, the sales person did not enter my email address in correctly. So I cannot access the contract to review.

    Ideally, this $199 cancellation fee would be waived and would like for my "contract" to be terminated and not contacted by the business again.

    This company is harassing me. I paid Hawx pest control for my pest control services. **** was purchased by ProForce. Ever since, they have been calling me every single day, sometimes multiple times per day about a "free termite inspection". I told them i was not interested. They kept calling. They have come to my door. I have told them multiple times to not contact me again. I have said in no uncertain terms that I am not interested. I cancelled my service with them and the calls and door visits have not stopped.
