My cell phone was stolen and about a week later returned. Since I had just gotten this phone, I paid $815 to pay this device off.

For the last 8 months or so now, each month Verizon is still charging me for a device payment I've already paid. This is beyond frustrating at this point that each month I'm having to take time out of my schedule to deal with this. They are literally trying to steal money from me at this point.

I want this device payment taken off my bill going forward.

    Thank you for your response.

This past Saturday (1/6) after having another lengthy conversation with Verizon corporate, I received a VM confirming this issue has been resolved.  However, I've been told this issue has been resolved the last 8 months or so each time I've called.  I'm waiting to see February's statement to ensure what I'm told is in fact true.  I would like to keep this complain open until that time.  I will confirm either way once I receive February's bill.

    Kind Regards,

    *******

I want to follow-thru on my complaint.  Please see the attached.  I was told the issue was completely resolved and this bill would reflect my correct charges, which is $55 and some change in month.  I don't even own a smartphone.  I've paid my device off fully in the amount of $815.

They are harassing me, and trying to steal my money from me each month.

    I want them investigated.

On January 6th, 2023, I needed to replace my phone. I was ready to buy a ****** ***** * on ****** for $335. I needed to have my data transferred to the new phone so I went to Victra ** ******* ****** at **** ***** ** **** ** ********, ******** and spoke with ***** and ****** (the store manager) to see if they would transfer the data to a new phone even if I wasn't going to purchase it there. They said no, but they said they were having a special on the ****** ***** * phone and it would only cost $350. As I would come to find out, they were NOT having a special on the phone. Thinking that there was only a $15 difference, I decided to buy the phone there at the store. I was not on any committed plan (it's month-to-month) and explicitly stated that I did not want to be on any plan as a result of this transaction. I specifically said "ANY plan". They verified that I would NOT be on a plan.

The return period was 30 days. The next bill that came did not have any new transactions on it, but that was because the cycle had closed before I bought the phone. It wasn't until a couple of weeks later that I received the next bill that showed a $10 finance charge. I called the store repeatedly but was always redirected to a call center. Not once did anyone at the store answer. I drove back out to the store and asked ***** about the line item. He told me that the first month will show a $10 charge and the second month will show another $10 charge, but there will be a $20 credit on it as well. ***** said that every month thereafter, the Bill will show a $10 charge with a $10 credit. Since it was a wash, I thought it was fine and started driving home. As I was driving home, I realized that there was some amount that was being financed, which would lock me into something of which I was not informed. I drove back to the store and asked ***** about it, and he said that $370 was being financed. He said the phone cost $720 but with a $370 discount, the price came out to $350. What he neglected to tell me was that the $370 "discount" was locking me in for 37 months where I won't be able to change my phone without being responsible for the balance.

After speaking with ***** and ******, they said that there was nothing that they would do.

So now I am locked into a 3-year financing plan where I cannot change anything about my phone without incurring a large penalty.

This was clearly a very sneaky way of selling me a phone and I can't believe that the store manager would allow such a shady transaction- she was there during the entire initial transaction. They disregarded what I asked for as far as plans go so that they could benefit from a financed amount.
