The technician never discussed the issue with my repair nor the cost of repair. I was never given the opportunity to approve or decline the repair. Instead, I was told that his boss told him to go ahead and fix my garage door. The business owner said that this normal practice especially with any repair cost under $500 and that any services at his house gets an automatic clearance to repair because the job needs to be done. So, the business left me with two options: pay the $340 cost or his technician would take off the parts. I am currently out of town and my garage door needed repair for safety and convenience reasoning. Also, my ** year old son was home and the technician did not explain the details or the cost with him. These arrangements were discussed with the business owner before hand and he said that this would not be an issue as long as someone was home. This did not make any difference as again, the information of the repair was not shared. The business owner even said that they do not call the home owner to discuss the job. The business owner had the audacity to say that my son did not ask any questions while he was in the garage despite his technician being the expert and never explaining the job to him or me. The technician left my home without presenting that the job, repair was completed. Again, I was never given the opportunity to approve or decline the job. I do not feel that my concerns were addressed and they were dismissed as normal practice. The business owner choose to argue with me, yell, let me know about his 40 years in business, and that his business is too successful to be bothered by my complaints. He even said that I can go ahead and report him to BBB and write a negative review as it has not been the first time for him and his business. Again, my communication with him was to point out poor business practice, the perception of overcharging the customer, and forcing me to pay the unapproved charges in the face of safety for my family.
