I recently purchased a house and vacated my apartment at Highland Ridge apt*****. When I received my final statement there were multiple unknown charges on my account. They are charging me $175 for trash removal stating that I left trash bags outside the apartment, which I left several very clean and dry trash bags for removal, I paid $30 a month for valet trash removal until the day I moved out. They state there is a limit on bags that will be picked up by the valet company. There is no statement anywhere in my lease papers saying there is a limit to how many bags they will pick up, they are trying to charge me $25 per bag even though I already paid for trash removal. Plus if there was a problem with it I was never notified and allowed to remove it they just decided to charge me extra for something I already pay for. Then there is the situation with the charge of $699.52 for carpet. They are trying to charge me to replace the carpet in the whole apartment stating there was a yellow stain in one of the rooms from my pet, but they do not have proof of this yellow stain. When I moved in the carpet was a little worn, I notated on my lease papers that there was paint in the hallway on the carpet, bulking of carpet in the hallway and a small missing area by the front door. The carpet should have been replaced prior to me moving in but it was not. I am aware that they use a third party vendor who decides to save the carpet or not, I am acquaintances with a worker for this vendor and they stated that the small yellow spot they mentioned could have been removed but the boss stated the carpet was 3 years old and had been needing to be replaced anyways. I do not feel that this is a fee that I should have to personally incur because there lack of maintenance. Please assist me with this matter. Thank you
