I booked a room at this hotel via ************** just minutes before arriving to check-in. I received my room key and went to check my room. First, I noticed a smoke odor, though the room is supposed to be non-smoking. Second, the light fixture in the ceiling was missing and wires were just hanging. Room did not smell or look clean, especially the bathroom. I went back to Savannah, who was working the front desk at the time and told her about the room. She immediately offered to show me a second room, which still was not in the best condition, I pointed out to her the floor didn't even go all the way to the wall and bathroom not clean. She proceeded to show me a third room, which the shower tiles had mildew on and the furniture was heavily abused. The entire time I observed several of the other tenants with their room doors wide open and closed piled up as if they were living there, and a good amount of foot traffic near the rooms I was shown, I felt uncomfortable staying there and asked to cancel the reservation. Savannah advised me to contact ********* since my card was charged by them, in order to get a refund. During my conversation with ********** I was told the hotel had only agreed to refund me for the second night and not the first night, due to their 24hr cancelation policy. After expressing the circumstances that led to me wanting to cancel, priceline was able to get April, the motel manager on the line, who stated she would call the owner and explain to them what happened. 2 days later after I have now checked out of a different hotel and preparing to travel back to my home state, I had not received a call back from April. I stopped by the motel just to be told the owner said theres nothing they can do, so they're just keeping my money unjustly. I complained about safety to April and noticed that she was carrying a sidearm on her waist.
