Date of transaction: 1/18/24 Amount: $340 My husband and I (ages 56 and 64) just moved to ** the week of the transaction and were staying in a hotel in ********, ** until we could move into a rental. We saw The Cottages at *************, ********, ** rental community (a *** Chapman ***************************** Zillow ad and went to their website regarding "Available Now" units, which allowed us, on 1/18/24 to input a requested move in date of 1/19/24; EVERYTHING within the Zillow ad and on their website lead us to believe the units were actually Available Now (*************************************************************************); so we applied online on their website and paid their $340 fee on 1/18/24), we drove that same day to the *************, ********, ** property site and saw that it was under complete construction and that there was certainly no units "Available Now". My husband has experience in construction and said they had a long way to go to be completed. I called and left voicemails and have emailed through the contact form stating that I do NOT approve them charging my card for the application fee nor run my credit based on the false advertising/their being no available now units. I have continued to reach out with no response which is very upsetting. I reached someone named *****, explained the situation, and requested someone from corporate call me. They have not. I also emailed ******* with Jim Chapman communities asking for help but no one has contacted me. They have not contacted me back by email or phone and went ahead and ran my credit and charged my credit card anyway. They have not communicated at all about running my credit (approved or not) but it shows on my credit. The phone # showing on my credit card charge for them is a non-working number (I have attached a screenshot) We have to imagine others are being harmed by them as well. I have screenshots of everything.
