A little background first. I started at Morehouse for the 1998-1999 school year, which was my only year of attendance. In 2018, I started school at ************* University. I decided to transfer to Morehouse in 2020 when I saw they had an online program. I was so excited about the opportunity to finish what I started. My last term at ****** was in April 2021 so I could start at the online program at Morehouse in the Fall of 2021. I received an acceptance letter, paid the expensive fee, and waited for further instructions. I never heard from my student advisor, as promised. As the beginning of the Fall semester began to rapidly approach, I began to worry, as I never received log-in credentials or communication with a Student advisor, so I could register. After speaking with numerous admissions personnel, including the director of admissions, we were able to see that it looked like I was enrolled to be on campus and not online. Even still if that was the case, I still didn't have the needed information to log in and register for classes. Being frustrated, I asked for my commitment fee to be refunded. I did a change of semester form, in hopes that given a few additional months things would move smoothly. Well, here we are now 6 days before the Spring semester is supposed to begin. I was finally able to register this go-around. However, when I emailed professors about specific editions of text materials I never received a response, except for one. My financial aid has not been applied to my account. The bookstore doesn't have any record attached to my student credentials so I can get my textbooks. I refuse to pay out of pocket when I know I have financial aid. The ******************** never responded to my email about my Financial Aid not being applied to my account or a book voucher for my textbooks. I tried, I tried, and I tried because I really wanted to be a part of the brotherhood of Morehouse. I have just come to the conclusion that maybe it just isn't meant to be for me. So, in ONE hour I was able to get re-enroll at ******, TALK to and email my advisor, sign and return all documents needed to start the next term on 2-2-2022 and make corrections to my FAFSA. ****** started and completed in ONE hour what Morehouse couldn't do in almost a full TEN months. I expected so much more from the prestigious institutions. But, I see now expectations are not always met. Now, I hope that I will be able to receive the commitment fee/deposit for this, second time, admissions to Morehouse refunded in a timely manner. After this arduous ordeal with the institution, I wish I could give no stars but I did have a wonderful advisor named Ronan that was as helpful as he could be, given his limited access to information and his lack of knowledge of the inner workings of being a student advisor.
