      I hired *********************** Owner of Apex *********************************************** LLC. to build 6 custom closets in my home for a total agreed amount of $6000. As per our agreement, I paid him a 40% deposit check on 12/11/2023 in the amount of $2,400. The agreement was that he would start partial install by the end of the month (Dec) with a completion of all work by mid January. He didnt start install as promised that month since he was running behind on his previous project, which I was okay with as he informed me he will complete everything no later than end of January for me. I reached out to him after the holidays on January 2nd to check in on status, and he informed me that he took time off with the kids and will be resuming work that Thursday (Jan 4th), which was completely understandable. On Jan 20th, I reached out for a status on when to expect install/work to begin at the house, but got no reply. I sent another text on Jan 29th, no reply again. I had called a few times, but he did not take my call or call back. On Feb 1st, I finally received a text from ***** informing me that hes having health issues and wont be able to do my project and will be returning my deposit back. I tried calling him the next day to see if we could maybe work something out timeline wise etc or what my options are, but no answer for either my call or text. Since he was choosing not to discuss anything, I sent him a text on Feb 6th requesting him to either zelle me back the money by end of week or drop off a check so I could make other arrangements. No reply again to either my calls or texts regarding these requests. Ive been reaching out to him pretty much every other day because hes sitting with my $2400, and I have not received any communication as to when Im getting it back. The lack of communication is very unprofessional & shows that hes pretty much out to scam people, disappear, and does not intend to actually return what he owes me. I just need help getting my $2400 back immediately. Thanks!
