    Bought a new pool heater as my old one wasn't working. pre-sales I spoke with Darren and asked about switching heat between pool and spa with the existing control board. He stated that if I had switches that would turn on the pump for the spa (which I do) then it would work to switch on the pool heater at the same time. I was told that if I wanted to add Home automation controls the board I had would need to be upgraded for $1000 plus install. I went ahead with the install with my board. After the install, I had issues with electrical so I had to get that repaired before they could finish. Once that was fixed I had to call and remind them that they still needed to come back to finish install. When Darren came back out to finish the install he could not get the control to switch to spa mode and said he would have to 'check with the manufacturer' to see if it was possible to switch pool heat. After waiting a week I called back in and spoke with Mike the owner. He stated Darren called the manufacturer of the control board and the board would need to be upgraded to the automation board to support switching to spa mode. I returned home and looked up specs on the board I currently own and the specs clearly say that there is a relay that can be used to switch to spa mode for the board. I returned to the store and spoke with the owner (Mike) again and he said that he would speak with Darren again to see if there was a way to make it work. I'm not a pool guy, but It looks like the wires from the switch by the spa to the control board are not connected fully. (i.e. the wires that control the pump are working but the wires that are supposed to control switching the heat are not. but in any case the control board I have is capable of switching on the spa heat but for whatever reason they want to bait and switch me into a more costly board that i do not need.

    They do not call before they come out for service. Was told by manager in store it would be sometime that day. 20 minutes later technician was at home and when I mentioned I was just. there and did not get called, his response was "How would they know where he was" He then said he did not need me to be there and then decided on his own to stop and not do anything. I Called the store and. asked manager to call technician, he said he would. The technicians phone then rang but he opted not to answer. Over 30 years a customer but no more. Went to Pinch a Penny and asked for owners information. Store manager would not give it out, so I left my name and number with him. Guess What, NO Contact from owner.
