I took my mom to that place because she couldn&#**;t see well and the doctor recommended an eye exam and then some glasses, said glasses didn&#**;t work. When I told him that she couldn&#**;t see with them, the manager responded that the doctor said that was her vision, he didn&#**;t check her again or take her off or return the money because the truth is I felt like I just wanted to sell her glasses, he didn&#**;t diagnose well, I looked for a second opinion and my mom has cataracts that if she doesn&#**;t have surgery first she won&#**;t be able to see. I&#**;m going to collect all the documentation from the second opinion. Dr. ********************** didn&#**;t explain that otherwise I wouldn&#**;t make the glasses, and he also recorded them for me. Because of Hippa, it&#**;s mandatory to give the patient their records, that information belongs to the patient.

I am not completely following the complaint.  I am not sure what they are talking about with the ending sentences.

As far as the issue goes, The patient was examined on 05/02/2025.  At that exam, the patient had vision of 20/30 in the right eye and only Light Perception in the left eye.  After the examination was complete, with spectacles the patient was 20/20 in the right eye and 20/50+ in the left eye.  This was a huge improvement in vison.  The patient was told that they had cataracts, but due to the large improvement in vision, it was decided to wait for further vision loss before ******* to get cataract surgery.

The patient was never forced to buy glasses here or at all.  If they wanted to have cataract surgery, they could have asked for a referral.  TO say we only wanted the money is absurd.  We could easily say that the surgeon who only makes money doing surgery is suggesting surgery for that exact reason then.

When they returned, it was concluded that the vision they were seeing matched the vision expected from the exam.  The glasses were correct and they were seeing as expected.  The patients "expectation" of how good the vision should be and the reality of how it can be based on the cataracts and other factors taken into consideration may not match.

We are sorry that they are not happy with the "best" vision that their eyes can achieve at this time, but we did everything correct on our end and we should not be slandered for doing what we fell is best for the patient.

    Translation:

Hello good morning I received your email today regarding the complaint filed by **. **********************. The truth is that I did not go to seek a second opinion from a surgeon as he says. I went to a doctor just like him, an octometrist and that doctor explained that she would never be able to see with any glasses and he sent me to a surgeon and the surgeon confirmed that diagnosis. As a doctor, he should have explained that she had cataracts and that with that she would not be able to see with glasses and should have given the option of giving a referral. He did not explain anything. I do not have to ask. He is the doctor, not me. It is his duty to inform the patient and give their medical referral. And what is the objective of making glasses that the patient cannot use? The truth is that I am very dissatisfied.

    Sincerely,
