I sign an agreement with Michael R***** on April 1 2022 with my daughter ************* present. for the replacement of my roof. He quoted me a price of $6995 and I paid $3000 down via check drawn of Fifth Third Bank. He stated that all the rotten wood would need to be replaced and any additional wood would be included in the cost stated. He stated that all the rotten wood would need to be replaced because it would not pass inspection. The roof was not completed to my satisfaction and the first inspector from the City of Tampa did not pass the inspection. In the presence of my other daughter Carla Gant she sated that she asked what the inspector's name and he refused to give it and the time and would not give as well. Mr. R***** left a voice mail on my daughter's phone the next day at 9:45am and stated that the inspector had already come without my knowledge (I was in the home) and the inspection had passed. My daughter contacted the City of Tampa inspection office Troy C***** and he sent another 2 inspectors to my home to on 4/30 at 2pm. Somehow the city told Mr. R***** they were to be there and he was there before we had a chance to speak with them. One told my daughter that he did just enough to pass inspection but it was dry. The other day while raining there was a gap in the plywood nail holes and now rain is coming through the roles which is not acceptable. On 5/5/22 Mr. R***** left another bill in my mailbox for an additional 1072.50. I have already paid him the balance of 3995.00 on Sunday 5/1 at a function with witnesses. I even have a picture of him taking the check. He is attempting to extort additional money out of me due to additional wood. However he stated to me on April 1st that the wood quoted in the original agreement was all included. He also stated to me and my daughter as a witness that he would have done a change order for the work but he was not going to do it. There is not a change order for the additional work.
