I'm **** *******, owner of ******* ******** of ******** **** Approximately 10 years ago I was building a custom home in South Tampa for a client who insisted on using Jacobs Custom Cabinets. I had no Idea who Jacobs Custom Cabinets was. Alex B. is the owner of Jacobs and employs his two sons Jacob and Matt and his wife Ruth helps in the office. Alex designed and built from scratch the cabinets for the home's kitchen and bathrooms. I was in complete shock when the installation was complete. The work was fabulous, I did not know cabinets could be such a work of art. I was equally shocked at the price he charged, I told Alex he did not charge nearly enough for the cabinet package on this South Tampa custom home.
I had another job at the time north of Tampa that my other cabinet subcontractor was having problems with, after numerous failures of the other cabinet shop to correct, I asked Alex to ride with me to the job and determine if he could fix the issues. It was a Friday night at 10pm, we were looking at the job with flashlights and on our cell phones discussing fixes with the owner. Alex put the owner at ease and was back on the job the following Monday morning and completed the fixes in about 2 hours. Alex charged me $250 for the work, I was so happy I paid him $500 and told him from this point forward he is doing all my cabinet work on my custom homes. Jacobs Cabinets has been the best cabinet subcontractor I have ever used. Customers have consistently asked him to return to their new homes after move in to perform additional work.
I personally work an enormous number of hours every week designing and building custom homes, and Alex and his family put in the same hours, in fact, I can call him at 9pm most nights and he is at his shop with his sons building, cutting, painting cabinets. I always ask Alex, " how do you get your adult kids to work for you, that's unheard of these days, I'm so jealous".
There is not better cabinet shop in Tampa or the surrounding area than Jacobs Cabinets. Alex and his family is amazing. Highly recommended. I'm giving Jacobs 5 stars, the scale is only 1-5, they deserve 10.
