True Auto Care did not execute the agreed upon restoration of my 1964 ***** Corvair Monza.I brought my 64' Corvair Monza, on April 11, 2023, to AJ at True Auto Care to have my engine, and transmission rebuilt. Along with break work, shocks and new gas tank. The agreement was that I would pay for a running, driving and breaking car. A car that could be driven home from ***** to ********, ** I was contact by ** back in 10/24/2023 that the car was ready to be picked up. That the car engine ran, drove and the breaks worked. I arrived with my friend, *************************, at True Auto Care on 11/13/2023. The Corvair was sitting in the parking lot running. I immediately asked to take the car for a test drive. As soon as I drove of the lot, the car shut down to a dead battery. ** then sent out an employee with a new battery and we tried to continue with the test drive. *************************, Employee *** and I were in the vehicle. We again tried to drive the vehicle with a new battery, but the car would not go over 10/15 miles an hour and stalled often. We barely got the car back to the True Auto Care lot. ** came out and told us the car needed to be broken in. That car needed to drive 1200 mile before the engine functioned properly. I have never been told this, I told him this was unacceptable, and the car needed to be in running driving order as we agreed. His response was that he would work on the car again and we would need to come back at a later date.January 2024, we returned after being contacted, that the car was ready.************************* and I went back, the car was locked up behind his gate and I was told I needed to pay in full before we test drove the vehicle. I said, "absolutely not, that I would not pay a dime before I drove the car." AJ would not let me drive the car he insisted he drive. The car would not make it around the block, it kept stalling and would not drive over 10MPH. He insisted I pay in full or i would not take the car. I had no choice but to pay to get my car. He held the car hostage.
