**** ***** the director had promised me a $500 refund due to moving my conference from ****** to ****** days before the class was to start. This caused me to have to book a last minute flight and book an expense hotel due to the solar eclipse happening in ******. When I can actually get ahold of her she promise action but never gets back to me. Another student was given her refund within a week but I have not received mine for an identical situation.Business Response

On December 29 2023, I paid ACOLS $350 deposit to attend an in-person training in *******, ** on Feb 21, 2024-Feb 25, 2024. On January 22, 2024, I paid the remaining course fee of $900. Both were paid by a credit card. I was informed 1 day prior to February 21st that the class was cancelled due to the instructor falling ill. ACOLS changed the class date to May 15, 2024- May 19, 2024. On May 10th I was informed by voicemail that the class was cancelled due to unforseen circumstances. I did a big of research, viewing reviews for this company and I ********* I learned that other people have had similar experiences with cancelled classes. I called ACOLS and asked that I receive a refund as I do not want to register for future classes with the potential of them being cancelled. I want my money returned to my credit card.Due to learning others have had a similar problem with great delays in a refund and not being able to communicate well with the staff who can send a refund, I am sending my complaint to you.I am asking if the Florida BBB can help me receive my refund.Attached document shows the email exchange with ACOLS and screenshots from reviews/conversations on *********Thank you for your time,******************* ************Business Response

Documentation was provided on 04/26/2023 and 04/25/2024.At the time of cancelation, ********* asked if I would like to transfer the fee. I explained that I was dealing with a medical emergency and the funds were essential to us. We explained that we had to help pay for a family member's dialysis. That family member died. I was then forced to have injections into the brain bcz of this matter (I suffer from a TBI). I provided ********* with both the dialysis information and the bill from the brain infusion. Every time we contact them, ********* responds with, "we're trying to go to bat for you....we'll call you back." I have explained that it's been almost a year with correspondence, but she said to file a claim in small claims court. This was a medical emergency. We ask for assisting getting the remaining $100 of our refund returned since ACOLS will not respond to emails, calls or correspondence.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:1st) the company didn't reply to me. They used another customer's name, Attached is the response submitted by company: "I am working with our accounting department to determine why a check was not issued to ***************************. 2nd) this is the same response that Ive received EVERY time I phone or email. The company should have had a resolution by now. I have been receiving this same reply for a year.
