  I ran an add on Nextdoor app with a picture of tile work in progress looking for a company to complete the job. ***************************** of Addition Magician Handyman Services LLC responded and came out to view the scope of work on 10-28-23 and provided a verbal estimate. ******* assured us he was qualified to complete the job and had over 25 years experience.We negotiated the price and ******* came back out on 10-31-23 to provide a written agreement, including $300 of additional work to install sliding glass shower doors/grab bar and received a 50% down payment of $1275.00 with work scheduled for Nov. 6th - Nov. 11th.Work began on 7th, showed back up on 8th and left before I came home from work. After we reviewed the completed work on the 8th we discovered several tile patterns on either side of window were inconsistent and tiles in window frame were not matching up, grout lines are off a 1/2" in window area where tile meets each other.When ******* was questioned about the visible issues on the 9th he became hostile with my wife and made her very uncomfortable and threatened to leave and then he left early for a scheduled doctor's ************ texted out sick on 10th and when I called him later that morning is when he told me the job is making him feel sick and cannot complete the job due to illness, ******* also stated he wished he would have never accepted the job. ******* was contracted to tile entire shower area, bathroom floor, install sliding glass doors, grab bar, vanity, baseboards and toilet and unfortunately did not even complete tile installation on one wall of project.Knowing we would incur costs for removing the botched tile job, repairing wall damage created, install waterproofing and buying new materials I requested a full refund. ******* refused to provide any type of refund back to us and why I am turning to the BBB. Please note ******* left his wet saw behind and I refused to relinquish to him pending arbitration.

  Upon arrival I first advised them that the glass mosaic is not typically used to do shower walls and the work what the human eye could see did not reveal the poor work that was already started. There was a section of tile started incorrectly and I said that I could continue with it but it was incorrect. The sill was installed already and it was not square with the wall and accommodating for a tile. It was flush with a tile I dry fitted on one side and a quarter inch on the other side. I  tried to stop the work at that point I was not 3 days in and wouldve given a partial refund. His wife cried and begged me not to quit and described how the last guy quit leaving the already incorrectly installed tile for me to be accosted for At that point he was still in agreement with me. The end of the third 3 day is when the wall completed and he stopped work. I read his complaint and none of the issues described were the issues he presented to me Ive got three very difficult days into this project before he asked for a refund. He kept my saw and some other tools I had on the site for 3 days after that I had to call law enforcement to retrieve them,and when I told him he was affecting my business he said you have another one and "How am I going to recoupe the money from the other guy. This man used me with my business being legal to recoupe money from hired a street laborer.
