      Having severe shoulder pain, my primary care doctor sent me for an ***. As a result of their findings, they referred me to the top shoulder doctor at Advanced Orthopedics. He had direct access to the *** films and reports, which showed advanced arthritis and detached rotator cuff tendons. Rather than do a shoulder replacement, he did a rotator cuff repair, claiming at one visit I had with him when I mentioned the arthritis and the pain I was still in, How was I to see it (the arthritis) with my magic little eyes?. How nasty and unprofessional! As stated, he had access to all the reports, films and xrays. My personal opinion is that hes so intent on beating his own record for the number of surgeries he does that he misses things. Long story short, I found an excellent shoulder surgeon who did the replacement, from which I am healing. I never should have had to undergo two shoulder surgeries in less than a year and a half. Im sorry, but I would not recommend this doctor from AOC to anyone!

      As a general response and not patient specific, early osteoarthritis is not typically prominent on x-ray or MRI. It is not terribly uncommon to find arthritis at the time of arthroscopy that was not outstanding on preoperative studies. Most patients understand this when explained. When unexpected arthritis is encountered, we still do the repair and then treat the arthritis conservatively as long as possible. Ultimately, shoulder replacement is an option for those not responding to conservative care. It is a major procedure that carries risks and is reserved as a last line treatment. Although I am a very busy shoulder surgeon, I try to be as conservative as possible; I have no desire to break any records. I am pleased to read that this person eventually found treatment elsewhere that was deemed acceptable to them.

      Like many have said this is the most unempathetic, unorganized medical office. I have sat on the phone for hours to get disconnected, no return calls. They do not know how to send scripts to the pharmacy. I have taken time off of work to track down authorizations, clearance for surgery as well as getting pain med submitted correctly. My husband is post surgical patient and in more pain but nothing seems to make them move and consider him as a PERSON. They overbook, even as an established patient takes forever to get appointments for procedures.TOTALLY FRUSTRATED

      Doctors are great. Other Staff NOT. A week- hours and can't talk to anyone for followup concerns such as swelling pain ect. I have it on my phone where i have tried and tried and could not talk to anyone . As i said Doctor G. was great. the front desk staff are terrible they say they will leave a message and they will get back to you by end of day over a week countless phone calls nothing but pacifying lies by the front desk staff. ( THE DOCTORS ARE GREAT VERY PROFESSIONAL IN EVERY WAY). Nurses are great when they will let you talk to one.
