1 starCan I leave a less than one star? Akumins concept of themselves is corporate self delusion. They want money and you are only the vehicle by which they get it. I go to the Southwest X ray office in *********************** because it is the most convenient location for me. I am handicapped! I REPEATEDLY have problems with rude unprofessional receptionists...when asking to speak to a supervisor the receptionists HANG UP...not put on hold...THEY HANG UP ON YOU...problems getting appointments...making appointments and then finding out they were never made....no access to supervisors....Being asked for information that I do NOT have readily available and then when finding and providing said info finding that they want more...difficulty in finding how to resolve issues either on the ** X ray website or at the particular location Im TRYING to get scheduled at...supervisors are always unavailable in meetings....we cannot contact supervisors directly.....overly crowded waiting rooms meaning we handicapped people must stand or wait outside....appointment time scheduled and then waiting for over an hour to even get back into the procedure areas and then having to wait AGAIN! Why schedule patient appointments and come nowhere close to keeping them? DON'T tell me everyone takes different amounts of time! THEY KNOW how long an x-ray or MRI or CAT scan takes. This outfit just doesn't give a **** about us patients OR our needs OR the time THEY waste..... OUR TIME for which WE are not compensated. People.... find a different imaging company because Akumin is inconsiderate heartless and uncooperative with patients.Review fromRobert J

1 starMy and I have 4 appointments scheduled with Akumin and only managed to leave with 1 MRI. Once scheduled they continue to send us notifications in text and emails for the entire time until you can get in. Ive never had such a horrible experience with any business that *** had dealings with. They must be another organization that wants your money and put you through all the ** and anxiety. If we could give them 0 stars we would! Theres an obvious reason their ratings are so low. Ive never seen any business with only one star! Its really sad and ridiculous for a business to be so unprofessional and worthless! Its so bad its so hard to put into words!Review frombud r

1 starAwful communication, dirty facility, unprofessional staff, unable to communicate with management. There are just too many other options and to use this really bad company. I have been trying to contact someone in management about a bill for three months and no one ever calls back trying to reach someone at corporate is Impossible.Review fromMarina L

1 star1 star is too much for this business.On June 12 I called to make an appointment for a breast ultrasound. **** ****** took the information, including the type of exam I needed and didn't say a word that according to the policy of Akumin I will need a mammogram first (I am ************************************* family, no implants). When I came to the appointment on June 23 the lady at the reception (was constantly on the phone discussing some personal issues by the way) gave me the papers to sign and when I finished doing that, she decided to tell me that they can't do ultrasound today and I will need to schedule mammogram first. And before that she also tried telling me that my insurance didnt authorize the procedure but I agreed to pay for it myself. So, basically people scheduling the appointments have no idea what they are doing and what the akumin policy is. No one called beforehand to tell me that I can't have the ultrasound that I was scheduled for and I had to spend an hour driving to the facility to find out that no one will see and akumin is always having issues like this with the calling center. Its unacceptable and absolutely unprofessional. Moreover, they all don't know where I should call to provide my feedback regarding their so-called work and services. Now Im thinking maybe they didnt want to provide service from the very beginning and tried various excuses to make me leave? Anyways, their services are a disaster. The lady at the reception didnt show any empathy and seeing me frustrated she said she would make me leave the facility if I continue raising my voice (which was the only thing I could do taking into consideration all the circumstances and the way they treat patients). 2 starsEasy to get appt for ultrasound but waited over a week for results to be posted to my patient portal and get report to my ***************** contacted them for imaging to schedule a biopsy and was ignored after 3 or 4 attempts in a 2 week period. I tried to contact location where US was done, but there is no direct # - all goes to a central facility. Had to request imaging disc twice and then had to schedule an appointment to pick it up. When I arrived, person at desk looked for it and said it wasnt there. I complained and he went back & looked again & found it, saying ooops I must be blind!Review fromAishea B

1 starThe level of care in the medical field has gone down drastically over the years what happen to Communication within the work place the purpose of notating an account is for the next person to understand whats going on my mom was rescheduled twice because of not having an authorization not requesting information in a timely manner before my 73 yr old mother appointment they stated they call an left a message however no one notated that they spoke to me an confirmed the appointment then I tried to assist on both occasions to get the information needed for the appointment so we wouldnt be rescheduled everyone stated they only needed authorization but low an behold once we got there they needed doctor notes which I could have requested at the previous appointment that was rescheduled for today an still not seen because they still did not have authorization I requested to speak to the manager ****** at the time she was in a meeting so her PET tech ***** came out to speak to me which she was rude unprofessional over talked me while I was on the phone with the *** office manager trying to get information to assist them I then canceled the next appointment because this would be the third one if you could not get it right on the first two tries then at this point they seem incompetent an at this point I left called back to speak to the manager ****** which stated she will handle the situation an speak to her tech ***** but her tone sounded so dismissive as if she really didnt care an to get me off the phone because her staff notes stated they call left messages that the appointment was canceled but I guess there was no notes stating someone spoke to me an confirm the appointment as if I have nothing to do with my time but come to there office an lie about being confirmed my 73 yr old mother went with out food or water for ********************************************************************************* wellReview fromDawn E

1 starMy biggest issue with this company was the radiologist who read the MRI's and submitted the report to my doctor. When my doctor received the reports, the brain MRI simply stated, scattered lesions in the brain. We rely on the radiologists to actually count how many lesions there are to see if Ive had any new ones pop up over the past year. THEN came the c-spine report. The radiologist listed that I had a lesion on my c-spine. That meant that I would now have to decide which medicine I wanted to switch to because my ** was considered to be unstable based on the report from the radiologist. Each one with varying degrees of potential negative impacts to my health and to my life. My doctor sent me home and stated that she would have her radiologist review the discs to get a more accurate idea of what we are dealing with. I went home and researched and had multiple discussions with family about the medications. We came up with an idea of what we wanted to try but I was heartbroken because my ** was considered unstable again and who knows what type of damage had occurred to my body this time and what rollercoaster I was about to be on with a medication change. A few days later my doctor called me and stated that nothing had changed in my brain and that I in fact did not have any new lesions on my spine. My spine was clear of any lesions. I was so thankful yet so furious that this whole time I was thinking that I was dealing with a new lesion, and my life was going to change drastically because of an inept radiologist. I just want other patients to beware and get a second opinion if they use this company. The radiologist could be missing blood clots, tumors, aneurysms or saying that something is there that isn't. 1 starIf I could give it a no star I would . This is by far the worst and most unsanitary office I have ever visited. My appointment was scheduled for 1:30 PM, and I arrived at 12:50 PM to check in. Around 3:00 PM, I had still not been called, so I went to the front desk and was informed that my appointment had been canceled for an unknown reason. They then put me back on the list and placed me in another room for an additional hour. When I spoke with the mammogram technician, she asked for paperwork, and I inquired what paperwork she meant, as no one had given me any. I had to go back to the front desk to obtain the paperwork, fill it out, and wait for another 20 minutes. This was four hours after my scheduled appointment time. When I requested to speak with a manager, they stated she was in a meeting. No one apologized or showed empathy. Everyone was rude and unprofessional.Review fromGrace S

1 starDO NOT GO TO AKUMIN at ***************. The *** equipment is so old and the tech gave me headphones which had loud music playing. I thought that was to keep you relax during the process while being in the tube. The headphones are to mask the horrible, loud noises this old machines makes for ***** minutes.Also, the results come in a CD,..who in the world still has CD player. They get away charging $300 for a ***, while does Machines are almost obsolete. I had to ask for a gown to get one. Very casual and not professional stuff. I have no clue this was going to be a terrible experience, it was, like being in a concentrate camp where you are tortured with loud noises that could damage your hearing and affect your ******** NOT GO THERE!
