I was searching for a motor for my 1999 Cobra mustang when I stumbled across Wild Pony on ****. They show good work and seemed very knowledgeable. So after some research I decided to purchase a remanufactured long block motor from them. Key work remanufactured. I paid in full $8567.50 on 3/18/25 the price for the remanufactured motor , tax and shipping. They promised a matching block to what I currently had in my car but only difference being a steel block instead of aluminum, which I was fine with. It took them about a month to complete the build and shipped on 4/14. And I picked up the motor from the freight company the day it came in on 4/17. It took a few days to get my car to the shop and once I did they started to unbox the motor and they failed to wrap the motor and had sawdust from their crate all throughout the motor. That was the first red flag. But not the last. This was supposed to be a remanufactured long block which has very specific things that need done and parts need to be as good as new or better. They used junk yard ***** parts and only restored a small portion of this motor. Additionally this is not an exact match to my motor like they advertised. The motors they have advertised show correct and show remanufactured. What I received was not. I asked for a refund and to ship this back to them. Which they say I have 30 days. I have only had the motor a couple days at this point. They immediately denied the refund and have blocked me. I am not disputing through my credit card for NAD.Business Response

This motor was purchased off E bay and in our description it clearly states that we use a steel block to keep costs down and it interchanges with your current WEP aluminum block.
He states they failed to wrap the motor. We put all of our engines into a heavy clear engine bag and twist and tie strap the end closed to keep debris out even though we ship it in a completely closed crate. The only way there could have been saw dust in there is if they cut the bag when the cut open the crate with a saw. That is the only way sawdust would have got in there.
This was a completely re-manufactured motor. All the parts used on the engine are new, rebuilt or OME along with some aftermarket performance parts.
He claims it is not an exact match to his motor. My **** ad states we use the steel block not aluminum block to keep costs down. He received a full refund and he still has our motor and it has now been 2 months. I have been trying to contact you because you have your money and our engine for free.
The picture of whats involved in the manufacturing process. In this picture he posted it clearly shows we use the steel block and that it interchanges.
The picture he posted Reused stock side main bolts ARP lowers. I do use ARP main cap bolts and use stock OME main side bolts on all our builds.
The picture he posted ***** carbon covered exhaust valves. That is not a picture of an exhaust port that we sent him.
The picture he posted of ***** intake valves is not a picture of the intake valves on the engine we sent. Our do not have scratches either. All heads are disassembled and re assembled after all parts are cleaned and valves don't pass inspection they are replaced with new valves.
The picture he posted with blue tape and our bag laying on the floor. We put the blue tape on to cover the intake ports to keep debris from getting in there.
The sawdust looks like whatever they used to cut the crate open they cut the bag also as they cut the crate open. That would have created the *******. The sawdust looks like they used a circular saw to cut the crate open.
The last picture shows the intake ports are covered with the blue tape we put on there so no debris can get in there. You can see our bag we wrapped the engine in and the padding in the bottom of the crate we put in to help cushion the motor. Also the shrink wrap we used to wrap the crate. You can also clearly see the boards at the bottom of the crate that we bolt the engine to so it does not move around. You can see clearly the sawdust is not throughout the motor as claimed. It is where it landed when they cut open the crate and cut through the bag.

I am rejecting this response because: these are lies. I attached pictures of the valves and heads they sent. Also I have not received a refund. I had to dispute through my credit card company. They have not contacted me not one single time. They blocked me as soon as I asked for a refund and to ship this motor back I initially tried to work with them. But they didnt want to. The are correct It has been two months. Two months of me fighting them to get my money back through a credit card dispute because they blocked me and never responded. I contacted them immediately on every issue and they never once responded to my issues. And immediately denied my refund through ****. So with them scamming me with this unacceptable and not as advertised motor I had to fight them through my credit card. Still two min later not a single time have the reached out to me. And I have tried to contact them over and over again

Proof that I tried over and over again to reach out and come up with a solution before sending to credit card company for a dispute. They wouldnt answer my calls. And blocked me. And still have not tried to reach out to me. They sent me a motor with old used heads when a remanufactured motor comes with rebuild heads. They also say it is completely compatible and it isnt. Their block does not have mounts for a knock sensor. And I have not received a refund and am still in the middle of the credit card dispute.Business Response

The motor does not have used heads, they have been re manufactured and the steel block is compatible. Please refer to my above response regarding the re manufactured motor, steel block and how it is interchangeable.
In your last response you state that it is not compatible because it does not have mounts for a knock sensor. All you have to do is use a longer bolt and mount both sensors on the one side, stack the sensors together. That is what every other customer has done that has purchased our engines. Out of all the engines we have built and shipped out or has been picked up this is the only complaint we have received.
Before you even received the engine you were messaging about how to return it with a statement to E bay that said "just didn't like it". We do not have a return policy as you stated. We have a 3 year ****** miles warranty if the motor fails.

I am rejecting this response because: firstly these are not remanufactured these are used junkyard heads with damaged parts. There would have been no issues with the heads had you not ripped me off and used heads that had not been remanufacted. Secondly I contacted you all countless times. You then blocked me from being able to call you and never called back. I was left with no option but to submit a credit card dispute because this motor is clearly not as described. The knock sensors do not have a mount. And you promise 100% matching block to the ********* just in a steel block instead of aluminum. And lastly I contacted you originally about the warranty incase anything went wrong and asked if you all covered shipping. You then copped an attitude and said you were going to cancel my order and refund me then. But then you chanced your mind. I was asking questions about your 3 year ****** mile warranty that is a rip off , I would have to pay for shipping just for you all to inspect your own work and make up an excuse as to why you werent liable. I think not. But that doesnt matter because you all blocked me and I wouldnt be able to get ahold of you about a warranty because youre scammers. I am not reaching out to you anymore. I am handing this appropriately. You all have my number. You all never reached back out to me, if you feel up to correcting, do so. But I am not doing anymore. I tried. You all didnt.

This motor was defective and I received it with the crate broken and having sawdust in the motor. Both broken and defective. They do have a return policy and I have attached a picture as to it posted by them on their page I tried to do this through that originally and they refused.Business Response

Customer keeps changing his story. First he claimed that when his mechanic started to unbox the motor that we failed to wrap the motor and there was sawdust in the motor. In our response above we stated the motor is wrapped in a clear approx 6 mil engine bag that was wrapped and tie strapped closed. You have to either cut the tie strap or bag to open it.
Now 3 months later the customer claims the crate arrived broken and had sawdust in it. There was no broken crate in any of the pictures uploaded by the customer.
He is now saying the crate was broken and the motor is defective. However how can you claim a motor is defective that you supposedly have not even put in your car.
The photo of the 30 day policy is something that was discussed with the customer prior to purchase. We told the customer that the motor would have to be shipped back by him. Once we receive the motor if we determine it was in fact a part failure or a defect in workmanship then a refund would be issued.
At this time the customer still has the motor and has not called or attempted to ship the motor back. He has 2 different phone numbers available to call.

I am rejecting this response because: they are full of lies and excuses. I will firstly say they do have a 30 day return I tried to utilize. They refused. I clearly stated to them this arrived damaged due to their improper packing and also arrived with damaged non remanufactured parts. I asked for the refund within my 39 days. They denied and blocked me. I also showed you proof they have a 30 day return policy. I also showed you my messages. They are stating we talked about this return/refund prior to them shipping. That is a lie. We messaged about their 3 year 36 month warranty. Totally different. Its a rip off. And I was unhappy with it but still agreed to by. My mistake . I should have known something was up with how defensive they got with simple questions. But oh well. Live and learn. I will also say I showed you all the screenshots of all the times I tried to call them. And explained how wild pony blocked me and how I will not be reaching out to them. They are a scammer. A rip off. Full of lies and deceit. I do not accept any of their lies at this point. And really dont think there is anything they can do to resolve. They could have answered the phone. Could have accepted the return. Could have shipped me remanufactred heads to match the motor. Or listed a true listing on **** that matched what they sell. They didnt and I have spent enough time on their lies. What proof does BBB need? I will gladly send it. Because I have any and all proof you need to see how horrible of business they are
