I lived at this facility, and it was a nightmare from the start. The place was crawling with roaches, and instead of addressing the infestation, the staff had the audacity to blame the residents and did nothing to fix it. One of my roommates—clearly unwell—started ranting to himself about going to prison and then threw a two-pound piece of concrete at me. He missed but it left a deep gash in the door trim. Let that sink in. If he had hit me in the head, I might not be around to write this. The staff reluctantly moved me to a different house, but turned on me. I went from having no write-ups to suddenly being their favorite scapegoat. They started hitting me with frivolous infractions left and right. One staff member even dug back two weeks just to write me up for not signing a logbook—then threw the red sheet at me and stormed out like a child. When I addressed it with them they didn’t even attempt to deny it, instead saying that “I did it to myself”. That same staff member didn’t have a shred of decorum. He acted like an immature drill Sargent in all the interactions I saw with other clients, including myself. Eventually, they kicked me out. And when I brought up how blatantly I was being targeted during discharge (not the first time I raised this), a staff member looked me dead in the face and said, “You did it to yourself.” That level of cruelty and gaslighting is hard to forget. Many of the clients at this facility are from very bad places with most of them being felons and having been “other than honorably” discharged from the military so they are used to living under horrible conditions and being treated as “less than”. If you’re a self respecting person and stand up to the harassment the staff won’t like it. That’s why I’m leaving this review. This was my lived experience, and they capped it off with a “negative discharge” after I stood up to the harassment. These people are masters of gaslighting—and I hate using that word, but it fits.
