I closed on a home purchase on Oct 27, 2023, using Fidelity National Title as the Title company. The address of the property is ************************************************************** [same is my primary address]. The title company estimated the taxes for closing purposes and everything was supposed to be settled at closing. A few days after closing the property tax bill came in for 2023 and it was much higher than estimated. I was notified by the title company of the full amount due for the taxes, however the seller is responsible for the prorated amount for the year. The title company is saying that I, the buyer, must work that out with the seller. I have asked the title company to let me know how much the prorated amount will be but they say they can only tell me the full amount and nothing more. The seller will not respond to my repeated attempts at contacting them for a resolution. I am asking for assistance in getting the seller to pay their portion of the bill and to let me know how much is left due.
