My vehicle was towed to the address above on 11/21/24 after an auto collision. I called my insurance company ***** on 11/27/24 and decided to file a claim because of the uncertainty of how long the investigation was going to take from the other party that was at fault for the accident. Geico called the tow yard and told them to release my vehicle. The owner then calls me and tries to persuade me to let the car stay and to just have Geico come and inspect it. I said no. The owner was aware that a tow truck provided by geico was coming to come pick up my car that same day, the 27th. He calls me back and says to just send him a text saying to release the vehicle. When the tow truck arrives they find the tow yard closed and conveniently closed until Monday Dec 2nd due to holidays. I believe these people did that on purpose to get money for the vehicle staying in storage. The owner has previously been arrested for fraud so this would probably be nothing new.

    Business Response

    Dear ****,

Thank you for reaching out to us regarding the recent experience with the release of your vehicle. We take all customer concerns seriously and appreciate the opportunity to address this matter.

First, I would like to clarify that at no point was the release of your vehicle denied or obstructed. When you contacted us on November 27, 2024, we discussed Geico wanting to take the vehicle and move it to their preferred shop,  and I informed you that, as the owner, you have the right to choose your preferred body shop. Geico was welcome to inspect the vehicle here at Ready for Action, I never persuaded you.

As per our usual procedures, when a tow company arranges for the pickup of a vehicle, they are expected to confirm the charges and coordinate with us to ensure proper release. Unfortunately, in this case, the tow company did not contact us ahead of time to verify the charges or make arrangements to have a check ready for payment. In addition, our records show that no confirmation was made prior to the attempted pickup. We request that tow companies contact us at least one hour before arrival to ensure that staff is available to facilitate the release. As a result, no one arrived to pick up the vehicle by 2:30 p.m. on November 27, 2024.
Regarding our business hours, as the holiday season approached, we adjusted our hours to ensure our staff had adequate time to celebrate Thanksgiving with their families. On November 27, 2024, we closed early, and our office was closed on November 28 and 29, 2024, for the Thanksgiving holiday. We resumed normal operations on December 2, 2024.

I also want to address the concerns raised regarding my past legal matter. While I understand the gravity of the situation, it is important to note that the case was dismissed, and I am actively working to rebuild my professional reputation. I ask that you consider this as part of the context when discussing past events.

Additionally, I noticed your mention of a request for a refund. However, it appears that no out-of-pocket payment was made by you directly for the towing and storage fees. The tow company handled these payments, and ***** subsequently reimbursed them. Therefore, there is no basis for a refund to be issued to you.

We sincerely regret any confusion or inconvenience this situation may have caused. Please know that we strive to operate transparently and in full compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. Should you have any further questions or concerns, we remain available to assist you.
    Thank you for your understanding.

    Sincerely,
    ******* ********
    Owner, Ready for Action Collision
