I hired Chapman Contracting to complete a full shower renovation in my home. The total cost for the labor was $5,000, not including materials, which we provided separately. The job was completed in early 2024.Immediately after completion, we experienced a leak inside the wall due to poor plumbing. The contractor, ******, had to return to fix this issue right after finishing the job.Shortly thereafter, mold began appearing in the shower despite proper cleaning, ventilation, and upkeep. I had a licensed third-party contractor inspect the work, and they identified multiple construction failures, including:Water intrusion behind tile due to improper waterproofing Uneven, poorly installed tilework Inadequate sealing around edges and fixtures Overall substandard workmanship requiring the entire shower to be demolished and rebuilt When I reached out to Chapman Contracting with my concerns, they refused to accept any responsibility, declined to inspect the damage, and attempted to blame the mold growth on me. This behavior is gaslighting, inappropriate, and contradicts their public claims of standing behind their work and providing client satisfaction.Furthermore, I discovered that the only public review of their company is from ****** ****, the very same individual who is currently corresponding with me on behalf of Chapman Contracting. This is highly inappropriate and creates a false sense of credibility for potential clients. Representing internal staff reviews as customer testimonials is misleading, manipulative, and unethical.I am requesting a full refund of the $5,000 paid due to the faulty work, the additional financial burden I now face to fully rebuild the shower, and the complete lack of accountability from the contractor. All relevant communications, photos, and a third-party inspection summary can be provided upon request.
