    I contacted this company because I have a leak issue in my home. I called the company and ****** J. ***** picked up the phone and he was very nice. He said he can do the work, and that he needed 50% upfront payment through venmo so he could secure an appointment. I paid $237.50 via Venmo and he said he was coming on Friday at 2pm. It was 6pm and he never showed up, I called him and I received an automatic message as if I was blocked. I texted him and no response.I also emailed him and he didnt reply.Sensing my number had been blocked, I called from my dad's number and he picked up, when i said who I was, he said he couldnt hear me and told me to call back, when I called back, I was blocked. Same thing happened with my mom's phone number.

    On 7/28/22 I hired The Only Leak Detector of Miami. He was suppose to find ourselves of a leak in my kitchen. He found the leak but has yet to give me a report. He advised in 24 hours hed have the report for me. I currently have an open home owners insurance claim open and need that report. I've called and texted *** him and he never responded. My public adjuster also reached out to him. He promised to get it to him and has never provided it. It wasn't until I gave him a negative ****** Review that he reached out to me. See attachment. Please help with this matter.

    This an e-mail address that doesn't receive e-mail.

    So, the opportunity to act on this offer was never truly afforded to us.

    Next, we will respond to the content of the response.

    It seems a bit personally corrupt for a demand like this to be given. There is a portion of this entire ordeal which has not been mentioned either on ****** nor with the BBB. And that portion is:

    The Only Leak Detector, LLC spent upwards of 3 hours of time for that property. There was considerable work done during the process of elimination. That property was markedly difficult to extract results from. An infrared thermal imager was deployed during this time, as well. 

    We offered a FULL refund--meaning a reversal of payment--meaning all that we DID do will have been for free.

    It would seem that the complainant wants the report AND all of her money back. That punishment seems to grossly overstep the boundary between appropriate and cruel / unusual.

    At this point, we're offering two options:

    A.) A full refund is provided, in exchange for the removal of the negative review.

    or

    B.) The report is provided, in exchange for the removal of the negative review.

     

    In another attachment, the completed report is shown, with the details blurred. Speaking directly to the complainant:

    *****, I'm sorry for the stress this has caused you. You saw the effort I put forth while at your property--you know I'm not lazy, crooked, or a bad person. Is there any way at all that you can agree to one of the offers I've made? And look--I'm sorry. I really do apologize. Your point has been made. But don't make me actually provide you with the full spectrum of service for free in exchange for my reputation. Why would you want to hold my livelihood hostage in that way? Surely I can't have made you feel, like, vindictive toward me. Vindictiveness is not a virtue, and never deserved. It's made of pure anger and hate.

    I am rejecting this response because: If I wouldn't have given a bad review or sought help from BBB, I wouldn't have heard from him. I will not delete my review when I'm not the only one with a negative experience and other consumers need to know what they are getting in to. I never said he didn't do the work. My complaint has been and still is that I haven't received my report that he knows I need. I asked for a refund because of the audacity of him to only want to refund me the money in exchange for me to delete my negative review. The nerve! I paid for a service and only half of it was completed. I want my report. Furthermore, the report he submitted to this complaint, could have been for anyone or anything. I don't believe he had or has any intention on doing the report that's why he wants to give me my money back.
