    We were approached by a colleague from Morris Tree Service going door to door in our neighborhood soliciting palm tree trimming on or around September 5, 2022.My wife called me asking if this would be something we need and we agreed to the service, trimming 6 palm trees for I believe $200.00 cash. I spoke to my wife again and had her ask if they would be interested in trimming other trees on the property and the colleague said yes. We agreed in writing to the following, 6 Crepe Myrtles $900.00, 1 Magnolia tree $100.00, brush removal $800.00, and wall cut our fence line $100.00 invoice #****. The colleague explained that the work could not be done that day and asked for a deposit of 10% or $190.00 at first we were very reluctant to leave the deposit given the door to door solicitation. The colleague explained to my wife to call the office which she did and spoke to a very nice person. This person reassured her that this was there policy and we had nothing to worry about, so my wife issued the colleague a check for $190.00 the work was scheduled for completion on 9/28/2022. Unfortunately hurricane *** was fast approaching, and we received a call from Morris tree service explaining due to the storm our work may be delayed. With no phone call they showed up to our residence on or around 9/28/2022 totally surprising **. The owner ******************************* began informing his crew as to what to do.My wife went outside to greet them and that is when ***** started to be very aggressive and hostile.***** started yelling at my wife that we were trying to take advantage of him for the debris removal and refused to do the work.I had to interrupt the conference call that I was on to find out what was going on.***** had already made back to his vehicle when I approached him, he immediately started yelling at me stating we were taking advantage of him.Our desired resolution is refund our deposit of $190.00 plus $200.00 total $390.00 for our efforts in the last seven months trying to collect.
