I hired Steven *******, owner of Next Level Home Solutions to pressure wash and apply sealant to my deck and dock. He viewed my area and quoted me $1200 to complete the job. I questioned if he had the proper equipment and he assured me that he did. He instructed me to buy 30 Seconds outdoor Cleaner which I provided. He arrived with a worker and immediately found out that his small pressure washer was not working. I had a new small pressure washer which they used. Steven requested a partial payment at which time I gave him $600 in cash.
The day after they left, I noticed a white residue on my garden and deck furniture, the 100’ hose left lying about. I also noticed some areas missed with the pressure washing. I did have some older Behr brand sealant which appeared to be usable. I also purchased a 5-gallon container of the same transparent seal for use. After the deck had completely dried, they started on the dock but then told me that my older sealant was not very good. I immediately told them to discard it and to use the newer sealant. Steven had recommended Thompson clear sealant, but I decided to use the better, longer-wear Behr sealant instead. I ended up paying a total of $1400 in cash to him.
Once the sealant had dried, I realized that there were many areas missed and the application job was just messy. I had a contractor look at the work and Next Level had ruined my deck. As it was a waterproof sealant, the sealant would have to be treated. I contacted Steven to look at his work. First, he stated that the “missed pressure washing was stained that couldn’t be removed then he blamed me for not using Thompson clear sealant. He did say that if I bought 10 more gallons of sealant he would “fix” his mess. Unfortunately, my confidence level in his work was totally ruined and I was afraid of any further damage he would do. I have requested a refund from him.
