      I have 2 charges on my card that were not approved by me from a stay here. I immediately brought it to the food and beverage managers attention and he said the charges would be reversed. 3 weeks later and several phonecalls to speak with a manager and I am still out $600 !! I will dispute the charges through my card but As a repeat customer at shepherds at least 2 times a year I am completely dissatisfied and disappointed that I have been treated like this. Not even a call back from the manager! Horrible customer service for a hotel that is not cheap! Can stay anywhere else and choose here all the time but not anymore!!! If a manager reads this maybe you would give me a call and show some respect and support?? ***** *

      *****, we are truly sorry about this situation. We appreciate your patronage over the years. Unfortunately, we have no record of a dispute for $600.00.       I have called more than once and spoke to staff members who told me that the Manager has "Taken the messages left for them" so she would assume they will take care of it. That never happened. As I mentioned in my previous complaint and with your staff several times it was two charges and I gave the staff members on several occasions the charge totals, the dates, and the conversation I had onsite with the F&B manager immediately when the charges appeared, I was assured in person that the charges would be reversed because the waitress made a mistake. So to search my name and not come up with the charges I detailed is very hard for me to understand why this is still not being taken care of by you. However, I have disputed the charges with my ********** because I was given no other choice or help by you.

      Stay 6/2024 My husband and I celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary with a 4 day stay at Shephard's and we had a FANTASTIC time. The hotel, pool, beach and entertainment were the best! All the staff we encountered were welcoming and very helpful. Our room overlooked the street, (this was our choice) The room was clean, very comfortable and the small balcony was perfect for morning coffee and reading. The entertainment every day/night was great. We loved our stay so much we had it booked for my birthday celebration in October. Unfortunately Hurricanes Helene and Milton had other ideas. We can't wait for Shephard's to be back on their feet for us to book another vacation.

      We booked a cabana by the pool on Apr 18th and complained several times about people in the pool smoking. It continued after staff asked them to stop. I then went to the front desk, gave details about what was happening, where the people were located and where we were located. I also let them know that I had a medical condition that gets worse with cigarette smoke. They said it would be resolved. The beverage supervisor unzipped our cabana door(without notice) and ACCUSED US OF SMOKING. After we told them again who it was, they said they gave a 1 time warning and offered 2 drink coupons in case you drink. No apology, didnt zip the cabana door(closed due to the smoke). A couple of hours later an employee came out by the cabanas(we were the last there), banging a gate and yelling its time to leave, we closed at 9:00. We reported this all to the front desk upon check out. It is going on 2 weeks and I still havent received the phone call promised by management. I still cant believe I paid my hard earned money to flush my eyes with water all afternoon, be accused of a violation I reported and be yelled at and accosted. This is beyond unacceptable and the business needs to take accountability.

      No one has contacted Ms. L***** because the issue was addressed on property each time. There were several attempts to ask the other guests to stop vaping. Each time we were assured that they would stop. It is truly a shame that they concealed it from the staff. We reacted on each request by Ms. L*****.  We do not allow smoking of any kind at the pool. This is even posted in three locations at the pool. The staff did react to her request and unfortunately the guests in the pool were sneaking the vape. The staff repeatedly apologized. No one on the staff encountered smoke in the air, but they still asked the guests and they didn’t give our staff a hard time. So, each time we were confident that they would stop. The security office was told someone was smoking near the cabanas. Security simply told everyone in the area about our smoking policy, not knowing Ms. L***** had complained earlier. There was no accusatory intent here. The maintenance man gave everyone a warning that the pool was closing. Again, no direct intent.  This was all unfortunate circumstance. These circumstances are unusual. We never have a guest repeatedly defy us.  The staff did not see the vaping and we reacted to the complaint each time. Security was just explaining the policy. The Cabana was shielded from the outside by the curtain. We understand that there is a medical condition and we are truly sorry for this situation. I can assure you that when we warn someone and they continue we will have them removed. This never reached this level. We are sorry this had to be resolved via the BBB.

      We would like this situation to be resolved on Ms. L*****’s part. So, we have issued a $200.00 credit on her room account. This should appear on her account within 72 hours.

      Had the issue been resolved on the property I would not have needed to follow up in this manner. ***, our server, asked the people to stop smoking at least 3 times before I went to the front desk. They were not only vaping but full-out smoking cigarettes(of which I have pictures). The smoking rules should be enforced before a customer ends up having a medical emergency.

      This hotel management is horrible. I felt very violated when calling the front desk to make a complaint, first words were from the manager, a man, me a woman, was are you undressed? This was so inappropriate. Then when I asked for his name he hung up on **** proceeded to go down to the front desk and talk with him and he made me feel as if I was doing something wrong. They had security come in and gang up on me. Unbelievable, then they told me I needed to leave. Had security at my door and watched me pack. I felt so violated. All the while I was just making a rightful complaint. That hotel is not good!!

      This complaint is not accurate. We had several documented problems with ****************** that culminated in an eviction. After several calls to the her room, of which ****************** kept on saying that they were not dressed and would be down to move her guest's car, the Manager on Duty called a third time and asked if there were dressed to move the car and she became irate and uncooperative. Along with several other prior incidents at the bar, she was asked to leave. There was no intent by the Manager on Duty that is stated in this complaint.

      Unfortunately this hotel is making up issues. I never had issues at the bar. I didnt like their choice of entertainment and voiced it. That issue had nothing to do with the car issue. I never said I was undressed. Such lies, its pathetic how they are covering up a situation, in which their manager was very inappropriate with his comments. Unreal.

      Unfortunately, the hotel is lying. They are trying to cover up bad behavior by their manager. I have no reason to lie and they are all out of line. I never said I was undressed. Its a shame that they can get away with such behavior and continue business. Ive never had any problems with anyone or any business ever!

      Worst costumer service ever. Not only I had to wait over 30 mins at the bar to get a drink and when I complained to the bartender, he was discriminant and called the security. I couldnt even believe it. I am a regular costumer and I felt discriminated!!!! Horrible. Not coming back ever

      Ms. ******, first let me apologize this situation. This is a truly an unusual circumstance, and I am curious if you contacted a manager about this. Security is never called unless there is a problem. Having to wait 30 minutes to order a drink is definitely unacceptable. We strive to give the best customer service as possible. We have been in business for decades and we take your comments very seriously. After waiting for so long I know you were upset, and it looks like we didn't handle the situation very well. I know for sure that there was no purposeful intent to get you upset. Also, I truly believe that this was an isolated situation and I hope you can revisit again in the near future. We have thousands of locals and repeat guests and I know you will enjoy our property as you have in the past.
