    I contracted a storage unit on May 7th with Midgard Self Storage **************. At the Midgard office you talk with a person through a computer screen to set everything up. I informed the person on the screen that I would move in on May 9th and move out on June 10th. The person on the kiosk told me that the rent starts on the first of the month so I would have to pay for the remainder of May and all of June. They were also running a first month free promotion . I understood and said ok. I paid $328.27 on May 7th. On June 1st I paid $75.50 (I assume this was a prorated amount for the free month. I moved out of the storage unit on June 10, as stated to the kiosk person when I signed up on May 7. I went into the office and spoke with another person at the computer kiosk to close out the account The person requested and I provided a picture of the empty unit.Here is the issue. On June 10th, the person on the kiosk stated I needed to provide 30 days notice to vacate the storage unit. I told them when I paid on May 7, I informed the person on kiosk that i would be out on June 10 and that was 30 days notice. They claimed there was no notice and now I need to pay through the end of July. I asked to speak to manager and they said to call the number on the front door. I called that number at least 3 times and asked whoever I spoke to, to have a manager call me back. I never received a call back. I did receive and email on 6/19/24 stating that Midgard requires a 30 day notice to vacate. I email back said I did provide the 30 day notice the day I signed up. I received an invoice from Midgard on June 26 for $362.87 for the month of July. The monthly rental is $279, but Midgard added on $75 for insurance of an empty unit. I emailed that would be filing a complaint with BBB. Please help me resolve this issue. I clearly provided 30 days notice when I paid on May 7th.

    I am rejecting this response because: there was an invoice sent to me which has not been cancelled or closed. Please see the attachment. To close this matter, Midgard should send an email to me or a response to Better Business Bureau, stating to the effect of " invoice ***** is cancelled, no further balance is due from Tenant ******, and ******'s account is closed." 

    Thank you to Better Business Bureau and Midgard for the timely actions in this matter and efforts thus far to resolve Complaint ID ********.
