  AAMCO 2023 Incident
  On July 6, 2023, had car towed to Shop –On 4th replaced battery Car was not starting. Aamco diagnosed that starter was burnt out maybe from oil leak. Requested that the starter be replace and that the oil leak be repaired- oil leak was from Value Gasket. Repair took a week & a half it cost $2079. Upon return of car when starting the car, it was louder than normal and idling high. Took & fill up gas drove less than 3 miles. Car sat overnight and next morning went to go out while car was warming up the check engine light came on. Took the car to Auto Zone to get light diagnosed was found that it was Idle Air Control Valve which could cause the car to stall. Returned car to shop informed them of issue. They diagnosed the condition to be coming from a small leak in the radiator. I was told that leak was very small & should not be a problem. It went from no problem to a major problem now the Aamco is telling me I need to replace the whole radiator. It has been over 3 weeks and the car is not repaired.

  I must agree with the review below. I have had a horrible experience also. My car needed a starter replaced, I thought since it was there maybe I should go ahead and take care of the oil leak. BIG Mistake, I was told the leak was major needed to replace several items. The repair cost me over $2000 and after picking up my car and drove it about 3 miles it didn't sound right. Went to Start the car the next day and the check engine light came on, so I went to the Auto Zone and got the fix finder report which said it was Idle Air Control Valve and the high idle may cause car to stall so I took it back to the shop and call them on Monday morning. They tried to say that a small leak in the radiator is causing this valve to overheat and trigger the light. Now they are telling me that I need to replace the radiator. My car is still not repaired, and this has been almost 3 weeks. If I would of saw the review below, I would have never used this shop.

  Dropped off vehicle for trouble starting. Unaware of diagnostic fees due to sign outside. Check engine light on FREE check. Then told it was 150.00 for diagnostic. Then called back and said they needed more time. Replied ok let me know what’s going on. Only to be told it needed a torque converter and possible transmission along with labor at 4600.00. When going to pick up vehicle. They did not want to release at 239.00 and finally agreed to 150.00. Paid the 150. And got a flat on the way home on front tire. Never had a tire problem before. Also picked up with a brake lamp bulb out. No errors when dropping off vehicle. Took to dealer and it had a purge valve issue. A contaminated stem valve on tire. And a bad brake light. A little over 1000.00 and the vehicle rides perfect. Contacted aamco for receipt stating the problem and repair costs. Because it had been deleted out of the close out paperwork. They will not provide. Hang up the phone. Had some guy get on and telling me to get a job. Etc. please do not use this place. They are out to rip people off and may even damage your vehicle. They are clearly criminals. Shame on Aamco. Free diagnostic means free. Not hidden and hold your car for paperwork money. That clearly grossly false reporting failures. Really tried to rip me off for thousands.
