I hired this company to clean the carpets in a one bedroom apartment and the love seat. I got an estimate on the phone of $108 for the carpet and $80 to clean the sofa’s upholstery. The technician (**** *) who arrived at the apartment pressured me to purchase a “deep cleaning,” for a total of $260. I reluctantly agreed. He then told me the credit card system for the company was not working and asked if I could pay him with a check. I was not able to do so, therefore he requested I pay him via ***** and sent me his email. He said he had to be paid as soon as he was finished. I went to work and received a text half hour later that he was done and I paid him $260 via *****. When I arrived home after work, I inspected the carpets. They were still quite dirty and the sofa was not completely clean. When I texted him and told him it was not acceptable, he asked me to send him pictures, which I did. I told him it looked like he just ran the steamer and did not use a cleaner, since there was still dirt in the carpet. It looked like he just ran the vacuum through the apartment. He never actually acknowledged that he did a “deep cleaning” but said he did a steam cleaning, and offered to come again. I declined, since I do not trust him to come back to my apartment. When I contacted the company, I received a call from their manager, ****, who pressured and berated me on the phone and told me I had two options: they could return and try to clean the still dirty carpet or I could get a partial refund of $72. Neither option was acceptable to me. I exchanged text messages with the technician and also called the company several times. During all of my exchanges, the company was not willing to accept the responsibility for the services. Neither the steam cleaning, nor the deep cleaning. They acknowledge that there was no deep cleaning service, but claimed it was steam cleaned (carpets and upholstery were still dirty) and we’re only willing to refund $72 for the “deep cleaning,” which they did. I provided them with photos. I was left with a dirty carpet and a dirty sofa. Now I have have to hire a company to come and clean the carpet and the upholstery, and Best Day Carpet Cleaners made a profit on their deceptive business practice. I am requesting the full refund $260-72=188 USD. ****, the manager who called me said the company was not responsible because Omar was a subcontractor. I hired the company and not the subcontractor. The subcontractors email address is [email protected]. Thank you for your consideration of this matter. This company is not registered as a business in Washington DC.
