    On November 26, 2022, Canopy Tree Company of ********** ** delivered a cord of "2 year seasoned firewood consisting of mostly oak but all hardwoods under 20% moisture content which was retested to be under 20% moisture content just prior to delivery". In fact, what they dumped (only after I paid them in cash) was NOT seasoned firewood. Further, it was well over 20% - a dozen pieces tested were all in the high thirties and low forties as a percentage - this is the equivalent of live wood, so it was clear that the wood was just recently cut down and NOT at all seasoned let alone for 2 years as contracted. Further more it was mostly SOFTwood, not hardwood, with a lot of pine in the mix. When I brought this to the attention of the driver and asked him to take it back, he hurried into his truck, told me to call the office, and drove off with us open-mouthed at the abject ethical failures and clear, unapologetic fraud. I have videotape of all of this including the wood moisture measurements. Furthermore this company KNEW we were in the midst of a terrible terminal-illness medical crisis and we needed immediately burnable wood to heat our home and yet they STILL perpetrated the fraud. I have since called and texted several times asking them to pick up the unburnable wood as we have no place to store it until it is seasoned and it is blocking our neighbor's driveway - all of this outreach has been ignored. Please prosecute to the fullest extent possible because we can't recall when if ever we last dealt with an organization so immoral.
