I had a solar account through a different business which was passed over to Arcadia. I have moved from the address they have and are continuing to bill me for the services. I have been ongoing emailing them since November and they still are choosing to bill me. Ive made many attempts to resolve on our own but they just keep giving the run around by lying saying they stopped after November.Initial Complaint

Back in July of 2024, I had someone ring my apartment doorbell multiple times. I was concerned there was an emergency so I opened the door to find a man with an unmarked van parked behind in the street. He told me ************* was keeping solar farming credit savings from their customers and in order to enroll in these savings I should put my information in with his solar company Arcadia. I said I would look into the company but he gave me his phone and asked me to put in my email and name, more information would be sent directly to me. I felt pressured and did, but then he kept pressuring me to enter more information. He asked for my National grid account number, social security number and wouldnt leave my door step until I finished enrolling in Arcadias program. He said there would be no implications I would just save a couple dollars on my national grid bill each month and in turn would be supporting solar energy. I enrolled in autopay with national grid so it wasnt until September that I noticed my national grid bills were not being posted. I called national grid and in short, I owed $600 to national grid as this solar company took over my account. I just finished paying 600 dollars on top of the amount I owed for November and December to national grid and have had a financial hardship because of this company. I called Arcadia to unenroll and tell them I felt scammed. In return they bribed me with a 100 dollar gift card for continued service. Finally they allowed me to cancel but told me it will be 90 days until that happens. This morning I received an email from the company that they automatically enrolled me back in the program at a new home I just purchased. Now I have to call and go through this song and dance again and can almost guarantee you they wont allow me to cancel the service I didnt sign up for for 90 days. I believe this company is scamming many people, especially those who dont speak up or notice their electric billsInitial Complaint

I have requested to immediate cancel my electric service through Arcadia, and they are telling me it could take up to 90 days. This doesn't seem ethical. The business is also not very transparent on the money you spend on electricity. They position it as a savings, but really you are paying more. We have experienced more than $100 per month in charges that could have been saved and I no longer wish to pay this extra money for green energy.Initial Complaint

Recently I became Treasurer for the Dixfield Seventh-day ***************** The church has two business accounts with ********************** (********-3501-5259-************************-3501-5395-326). I noticed that the Allocated Generation for ****** St. was 2-4 times higher than what was used, causing us to pay for a large number of unused credits that expire. On the Pine Street account the Allocated Generation is roughly 10-30% (varies from month to month) of the usage. In June I contacted the company multiple times to see about switching the Allocated Generation on the accounts. Each time I called the business account help line, I was sent to a residential accounts person. The residential accounts person would then state they could not transfer me to a business account person, nor could they let me talk to a supervisor (or anyone else who could help). They would take a message and state it would be ***** hours before hearing anything. In July, after calling them multiple times, I was finally able to talk to a business account representative (******), but she did not have the ability to switch the allocations and told me that she would look into it. July 16, I received an email from her saying "I have notified our internal teams regarding the unused credits, this will prompt an evaluation of the allocation size for the amount so that it can ultimately be adjusted. This is not an action that is resolved immediately and cannot be switched to another plan." I called Arcadia October 16th because there still had been no change to the accounts. I was again misdirected to a residential account representative. This time I demanded to speak with a Supervisor, but the representative said they could not connect me. They offered to take a message, stating again I would hear from a Supervisor in ***** hours. It is October 21, I have not heard from anyone at Arcadia. Most months, we are paying 2-4 times the amount of electricity we actually use at the *************** location.Initial Complaint

Arcadia obtained on my behalf space in a local solar farm, which then provided credits on my electric bills. In addition, Arcadia pays my local electric company my monthly bill on my behalf and charges the payment to my credit card. Several months ago, I noticed I had stopped receiving solar credits. I contacted customer support on 8/20 and was told it was because my account number had been changed by my local electric company, though Arcadia had known about that for many months. Initially, there was confusion at their end, as they thought I was a new customer. They said someone would get back to me within ***** hrs. After 9 days, I called again and was told an engineer was still working on it and I would hear back within ***** hrs. I received an email yesterday, 9/19, informing me they cant enroll me in a local solar project because I am on an ineligible rate class. My rate class has not changed!Initial Complaint

I purchased solar credits over many years with Arcadia. A couple of years ago they changed terms and just paid me a monthly credit that was not originally agreed to. This is because interests rates went up. In February they sold my account to *** Systems and I am owed over $5000. *** systems doesnt have those credits and I believe Arcadia will never pay them. I am writing demand letters and ** afraid this will end up in court.Customer Answer

Arcadia offered becoming a member of a community solar farm that would lower my energy bill as electricity use generated by the community solar farm would be credited to my utility bill. Instead this amount (based on electricity used) is charged to my account. I attempted to understand billing with Arcadias billing **** during the first billing cycle this occurred. They could not explain why my utility was misapplying the credit as a charge and I should speak with utility. Utility was in the process of setting up a whole **** outside their usual billing **** to understand specifically community solar and ould need to get back to me. I am now nearing 3rd billing cycle where Im being charged for supply (amount of electricity I used) twice. After NUMEROUS conversations where Arcadia cant explain the charges they keep calling credits, i attempted to cancel. They insiste the will continue to charge me this credit for another 90 days! This seems a some kind of super shady business practice. I need relief.Initial Complaint

I signed up for community solar with Arcadia in February 2023. I was originally told that the community solar farm I was assigned to would begin production in September 2023 and I would start seeing solar credits after 1-2 months after that. It has been over 15 months since I signed up with Arcadia and, not only am I still not receiving solar credits, but my account is no longer assigned to the solar farm that went live in September 2023. I have contacted Arcadia several times, first in November 2023, to assess an actual timeline and have only received vague generalities in response to each inquiry (e.g., "we cannot guarantee a timeline"), despite the fact that they had represented for months that my credits would start around October 2023. The delays, and lack of communication/clarity, are disturbing. At this rate, I wouldn't be surprised if it took over 2 years to start seeing credits (when I could have started community solar with a more reputable company). Shame on me for trusting Arcadia.Initial Complaint

They are door to door who claim to sell solar energy credits onto national grid. They took pictures of my electric bill. They then took my phone and signed documents signing me up on my behalf without my permission or knowledge what they were doing. Nothing was paid to them lucky and all the information they revived were account number, address, name, phone number, and email. ******* was also asking about items value inside of my home. I was given account number ******* after sign up. Immediately emailed them to cancel this "Service".Initial Complaint

Arcadia is meant to supplement electricity with solar energy via local plots that are dedicated to you.I signed up last year but never saw I had an active plot in their system - I believe there was some delay in their system reflecting this and in the billing. I started seeing adjustments on my ConEd bill in May 2023 I started receiving retroactive bills from Arcadia in November 2023. The bills are dated for ****Feb 23, Feb-Mar 23, Mar-Apr 23, Apr- May 23. I did not receive ANY solar power or any adjustments on my electricity bills for any of those months, and their live customer service confirmed I did not have their service support until May-June period.I continue to receive fraudulent bills from them for these periods. Their email customer service is less than helpful and on the phone they pause the billing only for me to have silence for another month before receiving another fraudulent bill. I do not trust this service to bill me at all considering this fraudulent pattern.I moved in October and shut down my account then as well so the only time they would have serviced me is from May-Sept2023
