RAM Waste Services placed our account on hold for roughly $16.00 with no notification of any past due balances. This is not the first occurrence of them putting our account on hold with no attempted direct contact. We get a quarterly bill and to my knowledge, we have always paid on time. I'm not disputing the charges themselves as my husband and I have always paid for our extra trash cans however, they will not have their representatives reach out, send an email, make a direct phone call or mail a letter to collect. I believe I'm not the only person this has happened to either. In my own research on this company, I've read through numerous reviews about accounts being placed on hold to stop service because customers are not receiving notifications of charges/past due balances - it comes up frequently. They have their customers contact information on file and purposefully choose to not reach out. It was only when my husband reached out to them due to our missed trash pick up, that we were then notified we had extra charges on our account. They also previously attempted to discontinue service last year while attempting to charge extra fee's on top of our regular bill when we called to have our trash bin replaced after it cracked from their automated machines. When we finally received the new bin, they then came back a few days later and took the replacement bin and we were left with no company trash can. We had to go to ****** to buy our own trash bins. When we reached out to see why they took the replacement bin, they had no answers. They tried to blame us, saying we lost the bin and/or didn't pay our bill. They then attempted to collect a $100 to replace the replacement bin until I explained I had video footage from our Ring cameras of their employee picking up our trash bin and also had bank statements to prove when bills were paid.Business Response

As you can see via the attached image, we have been in contact with ******** and accommodated her needs. Her initial complaint was caused by confusion due to contacting a different waste hauler. We believe that this case has been satisfied, but if more attention is due, please let us know.

Ram waste is arbitrarily, excessively, and without documentation charging fees for anything they deem "extra" during residential pick up service. This is not solely happening to me, there are documented complaints all over the nextdoor app, as well as, video evidence from Ring cameras that there was no cause for extra charges. We are left with no recourse to fight these charges as the reasons are not being photographed or documented.Business Response

We are responding to this BBB submission after also responding to your HOA Manager, your online submission and your call into our office regarding this same concern, so I hope that this information has already been relayed sufficiently to you. As is common industry practice, we charge for additional items outside/overflowing from your receptacles. I've provided just some of the photos of extras we've collected from your residence over just the past half year. As you'll see, the charges are not 'arbitrary, excessive or without documentation' as you claim. As you know, we have offered you a solution of an additional container that would cost less than the extra charges you're incurring, but you declined. We have been fair, accountable, and attempted to offer you a solution.

Ram billed my credit card for 4 months of service, running up to the start of the new Republic trash service in *******************. I terminated my service as of September 25, which meant that Ram owed me a refund for the unused 3 months of service, and the woman at *** said they would refund the overpayment they took on my credit card of $101.00. She said it would take a while for my refund, but I would receive a check. Nothing received as of 11-18-2024, a full 2 months after I terminated service with Ram. I called this morning and the woman acknowledged that they owe me $101.00 but it could take up to another 3 months for me to receive the check. This is outrageous. I previously had Ram Waste for my trash pick-up. Their service continued to deteriorate, the prices continued to increase, so I called and cancelled my service. I am now being charged a $50.00 fee for them picking up their trash dumpster. I was never informed that upon my cancellation I would be charged when I signed up for trash service, nor did I sign any kind of a contract. This charge is highway robbery.
