  Date of first deposit 5/31/23 in the amount of $9,400 and start of deck with second deposit on 6/20/23 in the amount of $8,500. We have asked ***** to fix issues with the deckangles, composite not screwed in at all, edges are crooked i.e. we messaged ***** on July 22nd with no phone call back to resolve these issues.

  Have tried to make contact with the customer to get the small complexion issues resolved and they have not responded with a time to come out. The customer has only continued to post online about the issue with no clear path to resolve the matter after one message was missed.

  PROCEED WITH CAUTION! *******************************, from BuildsBySteve, is a liar. I learned a valuable ****** with this contractor! Not only did we hire him to do work on our garage, we contracted with him to build us an outdoor kitchen as well. Throughout the process, he provided minimal (at best!) oversight of his workers, he provided us what turned out to be terrible bids (and tried to keep up-charging us for work/items that should have been in the original bid), and the quality of the work was/is horrendous! We continue to discover more and more issues with the projects we hired him for. We paid our deposit in early September 2022 and he promised us hed be done with the job by Thanksgiving, no problem the job was finished 31 January 2023 ridiculous!We are a retired military couple (41+ years of military service between us) and have collected numerous challenge coins over the years. We trusted ***** to create a custom live edge bar top for us complete with the coins inlaid in resin he told us this was his speciality. Apparently, he is affiliated with Sasquatch Cookies and has done all of their woodwork. He sent us to their locations to check out what hes done for the live edge bars and they were beautiful. We liked them so much he won the bid which included creating a custom live edge bar using the IRREPLACEABLE challenge coins weve collected over our years of military service. We didnt create shadow boxes when we retired, we planned to do something unique with our ribbon racks and military memorabilia so this was our gift to ourselves. He charged us $3000 JUST FOR THE *** TOP and guess what..the custom bar is falling apart not more than 2 months after he finished it. The coins are falling out of the resin and not only that, our IRREPLACEABLE COINS ARE FALLING APART! Additionally, who wants a bar that is not smooth and flat? The bar is NOT smooth and flat. He tried to keep charging us for resin saying that he didnt expect to have to put extra coats of resin on this CUSTOM bar top so we finally had it and had to tell him he was done. Furthermore, he did not finish the underside of my bar whereas, the undersides of the bars at Sasquatch Cookies are all finished (False Advertising?!?!) Also, notice all of the drip marks and the pointed/splintered piece? This does not look like a quality piece. If this is his specialty he failed greatly or he is a fraud!! Oh, theres more..he failed to seal the veneer he put on the outdoor kitchen, his crew was very disrespectful of our time being late or failing to show up when they said they would (which is probably why this project took 5 months 2 months longer than projected!!), I caught his workers smoking/vaping on my property even after having been asked not to, they did not clean up on a daily basis. His crew showed up on the FIRST day asking ME what to do. His crew would just up and leave the job without notifying anyone home at the time, leaving the property unsecure/gates/garages open. The frame for the granite install was so poorly built that thankfully, the granite installers from ************* were kind enough to fix his mess the sad part is, is that ***** was here when they took the template for the granite and he did NOTHING to correct it.Bottom Line: Dont hire BuildsBySteve (*******************************). H*** take your money and youll be left holding nothing but a $3000 piece of firewood, if youre lucky.
