    First Light Recovery is a residential mental health facility. We were required to pay the total copay for our son prior to his admission, $3466.53, on July 20, 2025. Our son was sent home by the facility on the same day he was admitted. Due to the circumstances, First Light has not filed a claim with the health insurance company. However, they are attempting to keep the pre-paid co-pay even though our son spent less than 12 hours in their care (which was also questionable as there was no supervisor on site as we had been led to believe.) The $3466.53 is currently being disputed by our credit card company, but this seems to be an unscrupulous practice on the part of First Light as we were told either we prepay in full or our son could not be admitted. This is equivalent to prepaying a surgeon for a procedure but then having the surgeon refuse to follow through but keeping the money. The facility has not responded to my attempts to contact them.
