Date of Transaction: April 11, 2024 Amount Paid: $80.00 for Data Transfer (1 computer only)Date of Pickup with Damages: April 16, 2024 Nature of Dispute:While in Kevins Computer Services custody, five (5) laptops were returned with internal hard drives manually removed and taped to the underside of the devices. Multiple screws were missing from the casings. Apple technicians confirmed the drives were functional and documented that the non-functionality was caused solely by removal not by natural failure. The business advised me that none of the laptops worked and suggested I donate them to the store. This statement is contradicted by Apples findings. The business also accused me of software piracy to deflect from the missing drives, despite my documented proof of lawful software purchase (including a working refurbished laptop purchased via **** in July 2023).Business Response:I paid $80.00 for a single data transfer from one laptop to an external hard drive. The business did not address the missing drives, erased licensed software, or destroyed creative assets. Instead, I received emails that appeared designed to create a misleading paper trail, followed by a written warning not to contact them again.Losses Incurred:Hardware replacement: $4,194.00 Software license losses: $1,167.00 Archival/creative asset loss: $14,130.00 Total Loss: $19,491.00 (insurance claim filed; notarized documentation available)Resolution Attempts:I contacted the business directly, provided proof from *****, and filed a notarized insurance claim. No corrective action, replacement, or reimbursement has been offered.Requested Resolution:Full restitution for damages, including the value of the missing hardware, erased software licenses, and confirmed creative asset losses.
