I am writing to file a complaint regarding an unfair towing incident involving *** ************************************************ located at **********************************************************************, contactable at **********. On December 31, 2023, I attended the Countdown festival in ************** and parked my vehicle across from Carquest Auto Parts at ************* When I returned around 1:30 AM, I discovered my vehicle had been towed by *** ************************************************ and I was charged $631.80 for its retrieval. My complaint specifically addresses violations of ********** Vehicle Code *****. There was a clear lack of proper signage at the property entrances indicating towing policies, which are required to be of specific size and content. Furthermore, it is unclear whether *** *********************************************** had the necessary written authorization for towing, which should detail the time of authorization, reason for towing, and identification of the authorizing person and vehicle. In light of these potential violations, I am seeking a refund of the towing charge and request an investigation into the practices of *** *********************************************** to ensure they are in compliance with state laws and are treating consumers fairly. This incident not only highlights potential legal non-compliance but also raises concerns about unfair business practices. I am concerned that others may have experienced similar treatment, particularly during the festival, and it is imperative that such issues are addressed to prevent future occurrences.

I went to an event at NOS NYE I parked in a lot in which I didnt see any signs that it is private property and I may be towed. The only sign I saw was one that said you can be arrested for loitering and trespassing. After the event I realized my truck had been towed. I found another sign by an entrance with the tow company information. The phone number was covered by stickers but I managed to google the name and find the phone number. The man that answered the phone was nice and helpful. He stayed until I walked over to get my truck. I paid 585.00 dollars. Although not his fault since he is only an employee there I am not blaming him. If it was Autozone that called to have my truck towed it is mainly their fault. They have no accurate signs posted and I may pursue legal action against them for illegal towing. Although tow truck companies should also be aware that if they are going to tow someone car/truck it should be done on some kind of legal grounds in terms of accurate posted signs.
