      Restif was contracted by a property manager (*************************) to deep clean a house in order to sell it together with the appliances in it as part of the sale. The cleaning crew inappropriately used an industrial chemical solvent that is not food safe and that is carcinogenic in the refrigerator and freezer. They left the container of the substance open inside the freezer for over a month, and the VOC's released permeated the entire appliance so thoroughly, that several months of leaving the fridge/freezer doors open and the device unplugged has not rid the appliance of the toxic chemicals. Any food put inside when it is turned on becomes permeated with the smell and taste of the toxin and must be thrown away for safety. No amount of baking soda had any effect at all. Anyone I bring to smell the freezer/fridge gags and says that they feel sick. So, I found a manager at Restif and brought him to the house to put his head in the freezer and smell it for himself and I described to him the inappropriate substance that had been left by his crew in the fridge (I had pulled it out myself). His response was to pretend not to smell anything, take a photo on his phone (as if it was possible to photograph VOC's) and then take a screwdriver and attempt to dismantle a panel inside the device, which accomplished nothing. He refused to admit there is a problem or that his crew is in any way responsible. He claimed that his crew doesn't leave anything behind, but when I described how many things they had inappropriately left abandoned on the property (broken brooms, cleaning containers, dirty gloves, carcinogenic industrial solvents, and baking soda), he took no responsibility. I said that if he thinks there is nothing wrong with the fridge, then he can buy it and put his food inside it. He asked me how much I'd sell it for. I said, "the cost of this fridge" (without even shipping /delivery costs). He refused to pay for what his crew destroyed and walked out.
