    We went into contract with R****** of 805 Custom Projects on 8/20/24, for work to be done on our deck: Demolition of old decking, building stairs and putting in a cement slab for the stair landing.
    Prior to signing the contract, we had some concerns about what would be included for the price, so R****** sent out a Licensed contractor named Jose to consult with us about the project, as he was the one that would be working on it.
    After the demolition was complete R****** informed us that Jose was no longer returning her calls, but that Josh, who had worked on the demo could handle everything for us.
    Unfortunately, the completed job was done extremely poorly, looked awful and multiple items were not even within code.
    We called out a reputable licensed contractor, Fred Escalera with Oak Paradise Construction to get an opinion on the work, since R****** refused to come check the work herself or send someone with more experience. Instead, she wanted to talk to Josh and have him try to make repairs. The way the stairs were cemented down into the dirt really made it impossible to do any repairs.
    Our contractor listed everything grossly wrong with the work and advised that everything would have to be removed and to start over from scratch. This also included paying for a new demolition, removal of ruined materials that had cost us over $800, and buying all new materials.
    Upon presenting this information to R******, she advised us that she already paid Josh and that he is responsible for his own work so we would need to go to him for a refund. Also, she would not be refunding us back the $1,841 that we overpaid, until November (half) and December (another half).
