I paid for the full ad-free upgrade of this app years agomy ***** account shows the Remove Ads purchase along with multiple feature packs (Expert English, Grammar, Power Pack, etc.). That was supposed to be permanent. Now, after a recent update, Im suddenly seeing ads again, theres no way to log in, and my purchase is impossible to restore. The login system is gone, all access to account features like saved/favorite words is blocked, and the restore purchases button has vanished.I am not alone:Other reviewers here are saying the same thing. People are angry that they lost access to their favorites, their account, and everything they paid forbecause theres literally no way to log in anymore. Ive also seen complaints about changes to the website, not just the app, so its clear this is a pattern of user-hostile decisions, not a glitch. This is not a mistake or a technical hiccup. This is a deliberate bait-and-switch. They took my money for an ad-free experience, waited years, and then stripped out what I paid forwhile pretending nothing changed. This is digital fraud, breach of contract, and a blatant violation of ****** own App Store policies. *** filed reports with ***** and a *** complaint under Section 5 of the *** Act for deceptive post-purchase changes.A literal dictionary app is now redefining what permanent purchase means. Apparently its code for until we feel like monetizing you again. But beyond the legal violations, its the ethics that disgust me most. This isnt just any appits a dictionary. If you cant trust a dictionary to honor its word, its definitions, or its agreements, then what hope is there for the rest of the internet? Selling out users, ignoring contracts, erasing access, and cashing in through forced ads is the absolute lowest behavior for a company built on language and trust.
