Purchased some potato chips from Trader Joe's brand from Trader Joe's located on *********** in ****** ** and unfortunately it contained excessive amount of salt and made me very sick. Keep in mind that I have purchased this product before and it didn't contain that much salt so I was informed by Trader Joe's store manager that this batch might of been bad and they assured me that their quality control department will investigate and call me back. However later their supervisor name ***** was extremely rude and unprofessional about the whole matter and informed that their quality control department will not call me to make things right. They have a horrible customer service and they don't value their customers and to make matters worse their store captain name *** found the whole thing funny on Yelp because he voted funny on my negative review for them on Yelp. ******** their store supervisor was rude as well and she kept making excuses and till this day I still haven't received a call from their quality department. I would like for their quality department to reach out to me because I like to know what was in their product that made me sick.Initial Complaint

My husband was told that he can no longer return items to Trader Joe's without a receipt because he returns items too frequently. We are both in our 70s and live within walking distance of the local Trader Joe's. We shop there several times a week and spend far far more than we return. Trader Joe's policy is that they accept returns, no questions asked, with or without a receipt. I had no idea that there was a limit. I went to their website and could not find this information regarding frequency of returns. I contacted the regional manager and he said the same thing that the store manager said, i.e., that the policy is being abused. My issue is that this is not stated on the Trader Joe's website. Are the store managers and the area managers allowed to make up their own rules, or should this policy be clearly stated on the website? I can't read the fine print on the labels when I'm in the store because I mostly need to use a magnifying glass. It's just been easier to read the info at home and if the product is not suitable for my diet then return it - unopened. I never thought to keep the receipts and instead used them to make reminder notes. Both the store manager and the area manager were rude. One of the statements that the area manager made was that maybe we better start reading the labels in the store so that we didn't have to make so many returns. Clearly he doesn't know what it's like to be in your 70s with weak eyesight. I appreciate anything you can do regarding this issue. Thank you.Initial Complaint

On September 13, 2022 I spoke with **** at Trader Joe's located at ************ ********* ** XXXXX. I ordered three 'exotic' orchids: not to be confused with phalaenopsis. This was understood by ****. She confirmed my order would be ready for pickup on September 17, 2022. I called one day in advance to confirm with ***** and ensured me they would be available for pickup. I arrived to the Trader Joe's store on or around 9am on September 17, 2022 and spoke with a manager named*****. She had no idea about my order and seemed confused. She had someone else look for my order and that person never returned. She then nonchalantly told me they were not available. She attempted to order them again and then said she didn't know how to. She seemed rather unfit for her job and did not care at all due to the inconvenience. I require that my orchids be reordered as promised.Initial Complaint

This letter is in regards to the company Trader Joe's and how it is in much need of some type of over seeing regulators. See most recently Trader Joe's closed down their wine store and not because of anything wrong happening but solely on the fact that, all together the store was trying to unionize. Trader Joe's in its self is violating Human Right and is not even paying the prize for doing so on a continuing basis, this isn't the first time a store is abruptly closed down do to the fear of us unionizing. This is retaliation on the highest level and no company should be able to get away with shutting down stores and or laying off people on a moments notice, without any warning or reasoning.Initial Complaint

I love shopping in your stores. They always have the greatest items. I particularly enjoy the organic variety you present and your juices. Unfortunately, I find myself continually disappointed with your interpretation of our US Constitution. During 2020 when covid-19 came on the scene you decided to listen to those who said they were speaking for science, but did not back it up. They told us all we needed to wear a face mask, when it is now proven to not be effective. You also told your employees to vaccine up even though they have fall to the same fate. In fact, those that get vaccinated, have been much more likely to become infected with the covid-19 virus and have had many other serious injuries because of the vaccination, including myocarditis. I stood by as you insulted your patrons that wanted to be able to breathe as they walk through the doors and it made up their own mind what was safe for themselves, and your staff belittled, berated, insulted them. And now it turns out that those that stood their ground and not wearing face masks and taking the vaccine, were correct. What do you have to say about that? Also, more importantly with my correspondence here, what do you have to say about discriminating against prospective patrons that did not want to wear a mask because it was truly unhealthy for them?. What do you say to your employees that did not want to become vaccinated because it was truly unhealthy for them? Now it's come to my attention that your ****** employees and managers are now taking it a step further. You are censoring us from speaking our mind while we're in the store. I'm not talking about threats of violence or anything of the like. I'm just talking about discussing covid-19 and anything related to it, and religion. Why is that? Why do you have a manager that is telling a patron they cannot discuss things when they're in the store like this? There's much more to discuss and I look forward to speaking with you over the phone.Initial Complaint

To Better Business Bureau: *July 24th, 2022 at 14:50p.m. and 16:30p.m. *I paid ******* not including the excessive gasoline usage. ******* ******* claimed that he would process paperwork for my in store traumatic incident issue. *Nature of dispute is the prolonged, neglected, unprofessional, unlawful and heartless travesty this business has created, impacting me with ongoing discomfort and stress. An unfocused male worker rammed his crate into my left side of my anatomical regions without any acknowledgement, rectification, remorse or human kindness!! My repeated and limited vocal attempts to the immoral manager were received nonchalantly; no action taken. A few witnesses present but no one helped. ****** ASSURED ME that I would hear from this business to properly take care of this serious injury matter. I made an ongoing awareness comment on their website to no avail. *An unknown and sloppy male caller, ****-****, Regional Vice President of the business, left a discombobulated and challenging voice message August 16th, 2022 WITHOUT HIS contact information. Communication, comprehension and clarity do not exist. Resolution is not associated with the business. *Auth Code: ********* *Store number: **** of horrendous incident.Initial Complaint

I was shopping peacefully with my daughter at the*********** Trader Joes on July 19, 2022 when I was accosted by the assistant manager, while I was checking out. She said "I am pretty sure you don't belong in here." She stated that I was not welcome in the store because she stated that "(I) had been previously banned". When I told her I didn't know what she was talking about, she said "Oh, I think you do" and told me that I could finish my transaction but was not to come back. I was informed that "(I)" had been rude to another manager and several employees. This is clearly a case of mistaken identity as I've never had any problems with anyone at Trader Joe's. However, this incident was very upsetting and cause me negative physical symptoms. I have contacted the other store asst. manager, who was commiserate, as well as corporate, who said that the store manager was responsible for any outcomes. I met with the store manager who made me meet him OUTSIDE the store in 94 degree afternoon weather. He reiterated that I was unwelcome at the store because he believes his employees rather than my word and my daughter's word. This behavior on their part is outrageous and I was humiliated in front of my daughter, the checkout people and my fellow customers and is definitely not the appropriate way of doing business. I do not know what occurred with their employees in the past, but I had no part in any altercations with any Trader Joes employee and I expect to be treated respectfully. I expect redress for their egregious behavior.
