I took my car to this automotive shop to get it repaired because I was referred to it by a AAA's website stating that it was a good repair spot to go to. The AAA towers informed me that my alternator was causing my car to overheat too much and that I should get that repaired along with replacing my battery. So, on 6/12/24 I took my car to Eric Krebs shop and informed them that my car was overheating, and the alternator was the cause of the problem. They told me that they could inspect it and see what was wrong, then informed me that I would need to replace my serpentine belt for the alternator and that it would cost $700 dollars. I then went to AutoZone to buy a new battery for the car, and had it placed in, and the day after the mechanic told me they implemented the serpentine belt to fix the car. I paid them $700, then the mechanic informed me that my head gasket actually needed to be replaced and that he could replace it for $1500, otherwise my car would have more issues down the road. He only notified me of this after he had just fixed the belt rather than telling me beforehand. The mechanic offered to do some more work on the car, but I declined because I didn't have that much money on hand and could barely even afford to replace the belt. I then drove off in the car when ten minutes later it started to overheat again, and I had to pull over to the side to let my car cool down for thirty minutes. I had already replaced the battery by this point, so I didn't understand why my car was still overheating. In order to get my car home, I had to tow it all the way from Santa Barbara to Victorville, and the tow-driver stated that my alternator was causing the car to overheat, as well as the leakage. Even though I thought the problem would be alleviated, I basically paid that much money for no good reason.
