I paid *** $13574.13 for the complete reupholstery of my classic car, which included interior work that required the windshield to be removed and reinstalled. *** subcontracted the windshield removal and replacement through a vendor he coordinated directly he called them, scheduled them, paid them with a check, and oversaw their work at his shop. The subcontractors installed the windshield incorrectly twice, and in the process, they scratched and damaged trim that I had already paid *** to upholster. Now they are scheduled to come out to my house to try again, but *** is refusing to have the work done at his shop, despite the increased risk of more damage happening at my home. When I asked him to take responsibility for the damage and coordination since I paid him, not the subcontractors he stated that its not his problem and that I need to deal with the windshield installers directly.I believe *** should be responsible for the damage caused under his management, especially since he hired, paid, and coordinated the subcontractor as part of the service I paid him for. I am seeking resolution for the damage to the interior trim and accountability for the job he was paid to manage. All of his work he has written out as hours clocked in and out, at ************************************************************************************************************** proof. Ive asked other shops and they said this could have been at maximum ***** hours which seems like he is ripping me off for more money, and now wont help even after all Ive paid him. I also found another shop with someone named ****** at performance auto glass ********** that said they could have done it right the first time, and said *** normally goes through them but doesnt know why he didnt this time. He found cheaper guys it seems like to do the work with no experience. *** also said he wished he didnt call up this shop that did the windshield now. Id like him to correct this.
