I purchased a vehicle from AutoSource dealership in *******, ** and very shortly after owning the vehicle, it stopped running as it should. I was told by the dealership that they had no warranty and that there was nothing they could do besides charging me to replace the motor and all necessary repairs. I explained that I would not like to make monthly payments on a vehicle that does not run and that I would like them to take the vehicle back. They towed the vehicle away and I was charged with a $10,000+ negative remark on my credit report. I would like to either *** the owner of the dealership for $10,000 for knowingly and willfully selling me this vehicle, OR I would like it removed from my credit report. Since this has happened I have been unable to find a home due to the negative remark on my credit report. Due to this, I will soon be a homeless veteran.

On April 20, 2023 I entered this business to complete a verbally agreed upon vehicle inspection with a focus on a possible sale to this business. The "Sales Manager" *** **** performed the vehicle inspection that included a test drive. He returned to the dealership with damage to the sun/moon roof that did not allow it to close. He then attempted to deflect blame for causing the damage, despite the sun/moon roof not being damaged prior to the vehicles arrival. He further refused to repair/remedy the situation. I made several attempts to induce this individual to fix damage that he caused to no avail. In the subsequent passing time Autosource has made no attempt to remedy the situation properly. It is my belief that this "Sales Manager" *** **** is attempting to hide this issue. It will now be brought to light. In regards to the damage Tim **** caused, it required money for a technician to begin to repair the damage in order to keep the vehicle from being open to theft. To remedy this issue properly I will require this money be reimbursed as well as proof that this individual, *** ****, be disciplined for his actions.

      Business Response

      Date: 05/17/2023

We are sorry to hear about your grievances. Please note that at the time of the inspection, if the car malfunctioned in anyway it would fall under the vehicle owners responsibility. If the vehicle was purchased or traded-in by/to Auto source, then we would assume responsibility.

However, that was clearly not the case. The car malfunctioned during the inspection, which holds the register owner liable for any and all repairs.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 05/18/2023

I am rejecting this response because:
The Autosource response is an obvious lie. As explained previously, it is the liability of the business because the business employee caused the damage. The vehicle showed no sign of damage prior to *** **** interaction with the vehicle. The idea that a company is not liable when the damage was caused by an employee while on a test drive is laughable at best. This is true in common social morality and legal case law. The business will respond by paying the amount of consideration to repair the damage their employee caused. If the business does not like it, then the business will pay a lot more in the end. The business will also respond by showing proof of *** **** termination.
