I had an eye exam and had two pairs of glasses ordered. I picked each pair up separately and each time I went in, I was told that I owed more money. And I even paid some more, at one point. One pair of glasses was supposed to have the transition tint to it and does not. I called and left three messages, asking for an invoice to be sent to me, itemizing the charges and payments because my insurance sent me notice that they denied some charges. The Vision Center states that I still owe them $140, but they refuse to send me an invoice in the mail so I can see my account activity. I believe as a consumer that I have a right to see my account activity, how they billed me and insurance, who paid what, etc. I am disabled and cannot go into the Vision Center at this point and will not go into the facility anymore due to how rude they have been in person and on the phone. I need some help getting an invoice of my account activity because at this point, I suspect that things are not above board. Thank you for your time and help, ****** ****

    Dear Better Business Bureau,

The patient came in to our office for a vision exam. The patient was given a quote on 2 pairs of glasses. The patient signed documentation agreeing to the cost of both pairs of glasses in detail. There was a balance on her account, after further reviewing her chart, the patient has a credit on her account of $83.00. Our office has tried reaching out to the patient concerning her balance and to discuss refund method.

All of our patients can request and have a copy of their receipts at any time. The patient did reach out to our office requesting her itemized receipt, which our staff complied with her request and had it printed out. Per our HIPAA policy, we are unable to mail out any itemized receipts due to sensitive medical and patient information on those receipts. We notified the patient that she is able to pick up her itemized receipt at any time. We are more than happy to mail out a copy to the patient if she is physically unable to come into our office. We can offer it through certified mail with a signature confirmation at the patient's expense, or we can fax it to the patient through a secured fax line.

We are happy to provide copies of the signed documentation and the itemized receipts to the Better Business Bureau,as long as you can provide us with a signed documentation from the patient authorizing us to release her medical records to the **********************.

If you have any further questions or need additional information, please feel free to contact me.

    Sincerely,

Hello,My complaint involves a Final Notice I received on June 28th for the amount of *****. My last appointment with the business was on 1/31/2023. Between then and now, I received no notice that I had a balance on my account, in fact I was told that it was credit on my account because they hadn't applied a payment from the insurance. Now, I'm being threated with a 25 dollar collection fee as well if I don't pay this said amount. I want a statement detailing my payments and what was applied from my insurance so I can see how it ended up being *****. The lack of communication has been appalling on this matter.
