Between August 2021 and January 2023. Did business with this company to retrieve excess funds from a home foreclosure of my fathers. Contact was very clear about chargers. I even spoke with one of the lawyers to confirm there would not be any other fees that were not listed in the contract. Was assured the only fees were listed. When the case settled I was charged $1350 more than was listed in the contract. I have tried to get an explanation from my contacts at TruEquity four times without any response. At this point without explanation I feel I was ripped off by this business

Truequity contacted me about my deceased father’s property. His house was sold at auction and the bank received more than they were owed. Truequity stated they could recover those funds and they would receive a 20% cut of the money for doing so. After providing everything asked for and truequity sending the documents to the trustee, they received the funds on September 9th 2022. They told me via email that it would take 7 to 10 business days to reconcile the account at which time they would send me the check and a tracking number. At no time did they tell me how much they recovered despite saying in the beginning that the amount was around 78,000 dollars. It has now been 28 business days and they continue to ignore all of my attempts to contact them with one exception where they replied that the account was still being reconciled. They do not have a valid telephone number.

Thank you for your email. Below is the email correspondence from my office to Mr. ********** on Oct 28th, 2022. Also, I attached a copy of the check we received from the Trustee. We have recovered over 3000 successful cases in the past 18 years. On rare occasions our estimates are not accurate with the information we have at the time of the foreclosure auction. What we thought should have been a $78,000 recovery turned out to be much less as the debt associated with the sale was much higher than anticipated. We use a formula to assist us in determining the overage amount but it is not an exact science. Mr. ********** was not misled as we quoted the estimate based on the best information we had at that time. We take no money up front for our service so there's no reason on our part to give anything but accurate information. I included a copy of the check we received from the Trustee related to Mr. **********'s case. The amount received was $33.90 resulting in the difference between the sale amount and the debt on the property at the time of the auction. Mr. ***** ********** was looking to recover on behalf of ***** **********'s estate. ***** ********** was the father of ***** **********.

    Hello *****,

Our original estimate of $78,156 was from the opening bid (often the
amount of debt), which was $149,844 and a sold price of $228,000. The
trustee has advised us that the total debt was $227,966.10, with $33.90
    remaining.

We apologize for these unforeseen circumstances.

You can also reach out to the trustee.
